What a wonderful time we had at our seaside theme summer garden party. We had a coconut shy, hook a fish, fabulous food, and gifts from lovely volunteers. This event was a highlight of the summer. It was wonderful to see so much joy with our residents dancing and singing along to the fabulous live singer. A big thank you to all our staff, our residents, friends and families who came together to make this such a special event.

Preparations are underway for our summer seaside themed garden party tomorrow on Friday 28th August. Along with party food and live music, we are making sensory sand trays, nostalgic funny photo boards, hook a fish and coconut shy with prizes and more. A big thank you to B&Q for donating a large Yukka plant, which complements the seaside theme perfectly! Everyone is welcome! See you there!

Fitness and Fun at Manor House
We were delighted to welcome Plymouth Argyle Community Trust to Manor House for a fantastic session of fun exercise activities! Our residents got involved with a range of fun ball games and activities, encouraging movement, coordination and gentle exercise. It was wonderful to see everyone engaging so well, enjoying the activities and making the most of the social time together. Exercise doesn't have to feel like exercise when you're having fun!
A big thank you to Plymouth Argyle Community Trust for bringing so much energy, encouragement and enjoyment to Manor House. We’re already looking forward to the next session!

Come along and enjoy the fun! We are having a seaside theme summer garden party at Manor House on Friday 28th August from 2pm - 4pm. Everyone is welcome! With a live singer with saxophone, hook a duck, coconut shy, prizes, candy floss, ball games, ice cream and more!

Our magic water painting activity was a big success. Our residents had a creative afternoon painting woodland animal scenes. The following day we decorated little picture frames with flowers to display their art work. Our residents found the painting activity to be relaxing and therapeutic.

We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon listening to vinyl records from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. The record player and wonderful record collection were generously donated by one of our residents, Bill and his family. Our residents enjoyed looking through the record collection, recognising familiar artists and songs from days gone by. Our residents tapped their feet, danced and sang along and it was lovely to see how music brought back happy memories from the past. A huge thank you to Bill and his family for such a lovely donation.

What a wonderful time out we had at Haldon Forest walking the final mile of the 1000 mile challenge. It was such a special day meeting up with the other South West Care Homes to take part in this fabulous event! At Manor House we exceeded our target, with over 115 miles in total!
Our residents had a lovely day out and they enjoyed the beautiful views, nature and wildlife, conversations along the way and even found it hilarious that the minibus broke down on the route! Fortunately, a replacement was sent out and arrived in time to join the walk.
We were so pleased that 21 people from Manor House joined in walking with us to support the event, including 7 residents, 5 staff volunteers, and 9 family members. A big thank you to everyone who worked together to make the event a big success, including our residents and their families, staff volunteers, care staff who helped organise and support our residents, our chefs who planned the picnic, drivers and volunteers and South West Care Homes Management for organising this fabulous event and to everyone who donated to the Cinnamon Trust.

We decorated paper plates and made pen pots using patterned serviettes, tissue paper, pva glue, and mod podge. Our residents enjoyed gluing the cups and plates and sticking on decorative tissue paper to make these delightful decoupage pots and plates.
