Have you ever wondered what happens at a crematorium, or wanted the opportunity to explore our facilities and meet the people who work here?
Join us for a friendly and informative open day where you can:

✅ Meet The Park team
✅ Tour our facilities
✅ Speak with local funeral directors
✅ View funeral vehicles and specialist hearses
✅ Meet local charities and community organisations
✅ Learn about memorial and bereavement services available locally

No booking necessary. Everyone is welcome.

The Park Café, function rooms and bar will be open throughout the day, providing a chance to discover the full range of facilities available at The Park.

The Origin of a "Wake" ❤️

Have you ever wondered where the term wake comes from?

Traditionally, a wake was a gathering where family, friends and neighbours would stay awake and keep watch over a loved one who had died before their funeral. It was a time for sharing stories, supporting one another and celebrating a life well lived.

Today, families choose many different names for this important gathering. Some still call it a wake, while others prefer funeral reception, celebration of life, memorial gathering, or even simply a party to honour and remember someone special.

Whatever name is used, the purpose remains the same: bringing people together to share memories, find comfort, and support one another during a difficult time.

At The Park, we understand how important it can be for family and friends to remain together following a funeral service. We are absolutely delighted to receive a donation of over 100 beautifully knitted poppies. Each one has been lovingly crafted and will help make our display even more special.
