The forget-me-not flower represents remembrance, and has long been associated with dementia.

The Alzheimer's Society blue metal flower pin is a symbol for anyone who wants to raise awareness of dementia and support people affected by the condition. Many organisations have flowers, ribbons and other symbols to represent their charity – this is ours.

The Dementia Friends badge is worn by those who have become a Friend by watching our online video, or by attending an interactive and informative session ran by one of our amazing volunteers.

Dementia Friends learn more about dementia, the way it might impact the lives of those living with the condition, and how we can all do small things in our everyday lives that, together, can make a big difference. Even the act of wearing the badge can help people with dementia feel more understood and less alone.

Let’s talk hydration!

When it comes to wellbeing, one of the simplest things we can do is make sure we are drinking more water. Staying hydrated doesn’t just quench your thirst, it helps your body function it’s best.

Water helps to…
• Support your kidneys in flushing out waste products.
• Maintain energy levels and overall wellbeing.
• Protects your organs and tissues.

This , why not make hydration a priority. Whether it’s carrying a water bottle with you or swapping a sugary drink for a glass of water, small changes can make all the difference!

As we get older, getting out and about can become more challenging, but that doesn't mean the fun has to stop! There are plenty of enjoyable ways to stay active, creative, and engaged from the comfort of your own home.

Why not try…

- Drawing and painting to get those creative juices flowing.
- Baking your favourite treats.
- Treating yourself to an at home spa day.
- Playing chess or other boardgames to keep the brain sharp.

Even the smallest of activities can make a big difference to your wellbeing, boost your mood and keep your brain active 💜

Do you have a favourite indoor activity? We would love to know what it is!

August is National Wellness Month – a great reminder to take a little time for your wellbeing.

Looking after your wellbeing doesn't have to mean doing anything strenuous. Even small activities can make a big difference to how you feel.

Whether it's enjoying a gentle walk, spending time in the garden, listening to your favourite music, doing some light stretches, or simply sitting outside for some fresh air, taking a few moments for yourself can help lift your mood and reduce stress.

Taking time to chat with family or friends, reading a book, completing a puzzle, reminiscing over old photographs, or enjoying a favourite hobby can also support your emotional wellbeing.

Remember, it's the little things we do regularly that often have the biggest impact on our health and happiness.

What's one small thing that helps you feel relaxed or brings a smile to your face?

This , we are celebrating the incredible carers who make life better for the clients they support.

What makes a great carer?

While training and experience are important, it's often the personal qualities that make the biggest difference. Whether it’s a smile that brightens someone's day, having patience during difficult moments, or a genuine desire to help others, these qualities can have a lasting impact.

Thank you to our carers for everything you do ❤️

Think you'd make a great carer? If you share these qualities and are interested in a career in care, contact us today.

Some of you will remember Aline, she worked in branch as a Care Planner with us a few years ago but sadly left to go to Uni 😢

Aline is doing so well though, she has nearly finished now and going to do her Masters.

Well done Aline, we miss you and it was so lovely to see you! ❤️
