Journaling can be a gentle way to slow down and make sense of what you are feeling.

When life feels busy, overwhelming or emotionally heavy, it is easy for thoughts to build up inside without having anywhere to go. Writing them down can help create space between you and what you are carrying.

You do not need to write perfectly. You do not need to know exactly what to say. Even a few honest sentences can help you notice patterns, understand your emotions more clearly and begin to process what feels difficult.

You might start with:

“What am I feeling today?”
“What do I need right now?”
“What has been weighing on me?”
“What would I say if I felt completely safe to be honest?”

Journaling is not about having all the answers. It is about giving yourself time, space and permission to listen to what is going on beneath the surface.

At Plymouth Personal and Relationship Counselling, we offer a calm, confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and experiences that may feel difficult to manage alone.
