🌿 Our Final 1000 Miles Walk – Haldon Forest 🌿
What a wonderful way to complete our 1000 Miles Challenge! 💚
Our residents were joined by staff from across South West Care Homes, our Senior Management Team, and the lovely Cinnamon Trust with some of their amazing dogs, making it a truly special day filled with smiles, laughter, and great company. 🐾
We finished the walk with a delicious buffet of sandwiches, homemade cakes, and refreshments, celebrating everyone's incredible achievement together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this challenge so memorable. Every step really did count! 💚🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

We had a wonderful finale to our Walk 1000 miles in July with a walk in Haldon Forest Park - Forestry England
There were 10 homes who were represented with 106 participants consisting of residents, their families, friends and staff.
We walked the 1.4 mile course walking a collective 'Final Mile' of 148 miles to add to the approximately 1450 miles achieved throughout July.
One Manager wrote: "It was wonderful to see everyone coming together to support such a worthwhile cause and raise money for the The Cinnamon Trust. It was my first trip out and for some of the residents it was their first outing too. They all had a wonderful time. We spent time spotting wildlife as we made our way around the forest and chatting with residents from other homes. When we returned it was lovely to see how excited they were to tell the staff and other residents all about their day. The smiles on their faces as they shared their experiences were wonderful to see and showed just how much the outing had meant to them."
Richard, our MD said: " We are delighted to support The Cinnamon Trust as our Charity of the Year and link our 1000 miles in July challenge to fundraise for their work. Their work recognises something deeply important - that companion animals are often a source of comfort, continuity and emotional wellbeing, particularly when people are navigating illness, loss or major life changes. Too often these companions can become an afterthought, and The Cinnamon Trust ensures they are not."

It was great that Lavender Court Care Home could join us all yesterday, they had quite a road trip! The smiles make it all worthwhile 😊

Reminder - tomorrow is our finale for all our homes, we are meeting at 2pm ready to walk our last mile together. If you can donate using the QR code below then we would be grateful, our residents, staff and family have done an amazing job during July in getting out and about, exploring new places together, enjoying each other's company and some treats to keep them going!
