A message from the team at Rees Pharmacy Pontardawe 💙
We've recently seen a number of comments online about our pharmacy, and while we understand that waiting for medication can be frustrating, we also wanted to share our perspective.
Our team are here every day working incredibly hard to provide safe, professional care. Behind every prescription is a process of clinical checks, dispensing and accuracy checking, and patient safety will always come before speed.
We are proud to have a fully staffed team, with us as owners working alongside our colleagues on the shop floor every week.
On many days we also have two pharmacists available, enabling us to provide both dispensing and prescribing services for our community.
Like every pharmacy in the UK, we occasionally face challenges outside of our control, including medicine shortages and delays in prescriptions reaching us. When that happens, our team do everything they can to find solutions and help patients as quickly as possible.
We'd like to thank our staff, whose dedication
and kindness are shown every single day, and to our patients who continue to support us. Your patience, understanding and kind words mean more than you know.
We'd also like to gently remind everyone that requesting a prescription from your GP doesn't always mean it has reached the pharmacy yet, and an electronic prescription arriving doesn't always mean it's immediately ready to collect. Before any medication is handed out, it must be downloaded, clinically checked, dispensed and accuracy checked to ensure it's safe for you.
If there's ever a delay, please know that our team will always do everything we can to help. We can check the status of your prescription, liaise with the surgery where appropriate, source medication where possible and find solutions. We're often the face people see when something hasn't gone to plan, but we're always on your side.
