Dementia care in homecare settings ( your own house) are we putting cost before safety?

At what point is it considered safe to leave a person living with dementia alone at home simply to reduce care costs?

Is a care package of 30-minute visits, four times a day really enough? What happens if they fall shortly after the carer leaves? They may not remember how to use an emergency alarm or even be able to press it.

Can anyone honestly say that four short visits a day provide enough support for someone with dementia who may be confused, forgetful, vulnerable, or at risk of wandering?

I’d like to hear from carers, families, healthcare professionals, and people with lived experience.

* Are 30-minute visits truly adequate?
* Have you seen situations where this has worked or failed?
* Should care decisions prioritise a person’s needs over financial pressures?
