When we treat tasks as balls to throw to someone else, we have to take the ball back if there's a problem - bad news. But when we treat tasks as strings, we hold one side, anchoring it without doing all the running around of all the strings, and then others are safe to achieve within that string's lengths.

Science shows addiction isn't a disease you're born with. Yet soldiers suddenly stopped hard drugs and some people consume "in moderation". How? It's about invasive vs. pervasive. On a neurological level, the brain keeps the addiction seperate and thus "contained" or "invasive" while it can distinguish it from the rest of life. When the two become indistinguishable, addiction becomes pervasive, making it incredibly hard to just stop.

Addiction hijacks your brain's natural reward system, short-circuiting the dopamine release meant to motivate towards effort for survival. Truly good things take effort and then deliver reward, addiction imitates immediate reward and makes you later pay more than you imagined it could cost. This disconnect leads to compulsion for more imitation and reduced motivation for the real stuff of life. Your brain is wired to seek rewards, but addiction bypasses this process.

Addiction isn't always obvious, sometimes it is invasive, so it is part of a person's life, but if the difference between the addiciton and the rest of life blurs, the addiction becomes pervasive, filling all of a life.

Our brains have three distinct parts: one for essential life functions like blood flow and breathing, another for motivating or avoiding actions, and a third for logic, reason, and spiritual connection. This design beautifully reflects God's nature of interdependent diversity, where different elements are made to rely on each other.

Frustrated by unanswered prayers, I questioned God's love. But now, I'm thankful He didn't grant instant miracles. The struggles, the process—they forged a strength and wisdom that instant solutions never could. Just like a butterfly needs its struggle to grow strong wings, our challenges build resilience.

Many believe addiction means total powerlessness. But what if that's part of the deception? Does it really make sense? True power comes from understanding the 'trick' of addiction. Knowledge empowers us to break free and take responsibility for our recovery.

You were tricked, conned, and deceived into addiction. It's not your fault, and you're not to blame. But while fault and responsibility are different, taking responsibility is the key to moving forward. Don't let past blame drown your future.

Understanding addiction transforms vulnerability from deceived powerlessness into safe surrender. Someone in addiction does not need to remain powerlesness, nor addicted.

I used to have a serious anger problem, growing up where rage was the solution. But through faith, I learned giving in to anger means you're actually forfeiting power. True power and healthy control isn't in shouting; it's in processing pain and betrayal with resilience.
