Thank you again to all whom supported my climb of 6 miles of pure steps. My legs are still not willing to do much.

Whilst I was going up, down, up, down, up, down. My mind created a poem which this weekend I have had a play around with...turning it into the following.

This is a song that represents what we do.

Hope, joy, unconditional acceptance, humbleness to witness the light come back into a young person eyes.

We are just the guardians of their beacon, their own light.

Any choirs wish to bring this to life, please do reach out.

Fingers crossed the link works

calm, emotive, heartfelt, hopeful

History, community, and a mountain of steps! 🪜

Supporting Kerra at the bottom of Jacob's Ladder on 8th August was an unforgettable experience. While she completed 75 gruelling climbs to raise money for our vital service, we got to chat with locals sharing memories of the steps—including a moving story about a local wartime survival!

Read all about a brilliant day of community spirit, Jelly Babies, and how your donations are helping local children heal through play.

You may have seen the recent news about plans to open walk-in mental health hubs in libraries, banks, and high street locations across England.

While seeing steps taken toward making mental health care more accessible is positive, reading through the public reaction and online comments has been a sober reminder of how far we still have to go.

The comments show just how much misunderstanding and stigma still surround mental health in our country. Struggling with your mental health isn't a choice, a trend, or something you can simply "snap out of." The crisis affecting children, young people, and adults across the UK is real, deeply painful, and often invisible until a person reaches an absolute breaking point.

Accessible, early support isn't a luxury—it’s vital care.

At Out of the Woods, we see firsthand the courage it takes for individuals and families to step forward and ask for help. We see how transformative it is when someone is finally heard, understood, and met with empathy rather than judgment.

To anyone reading the discourse online and feeling disheartened, invalidated, or misunderstood: your struggles are real, your mental health matters, and needing support is never something to feel ashamed of. 🌳✨

The community centres are set to offer walk-in support where members of the public can attend without needing a medical referral
