There was plenty of singing, dancing, and smiling this World Music Day as we celebrated the power of music with our special guest Elvis, the King himself 🕺🎸✨

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed tapping their feet, singing along to classic favourites, and sharing the joy that music brings. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, energy, and togetherness as everyone embraced the spirit of World Music Day 🎤🎶

A huge thank you to our fantastic Elvis and all our other Rock Stars for being part of a wonderful celebration.

Tony and Bridget were busy feeding the ducks, swans and very cheeky seagulls! There was even a funny moment when a seagull went for the bread on Tony’s cap and Beth shouted “Duck!” 😄

Garden Club was full of creativity this week 🐝🌼

Residents made a bee station and colourful clay bees, along with small drinking cups for visiting bees. Jeanette and Stella enjoyed working with gardener Michael, and there was plenty of conversation as everything came together.

Gill celebrated her 84th birthday at The Aldbury with a special performance from the Ferndown Ukulele Strummers 🎶

Ten musicians played her favourite songs from the 1960s and 1970s, with plenty of singing along, dancing and foot tapping. Gill’s daughter said she hadn’t seen her mum so happy for months 💛

As well as celebrating our own wonderful nurses here at The Aldbury yesterday for International Nurses Day, we also decided to visit Poole Hospital and meet some of the nurses on the dementia team there.

We were joined by one of our residents, Margaret who was a midwife for many years, delivering in her words ‘thousands’ of babies during her career.

A sincere thank you to all the wonderful nurses for their professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment to those in their care.
