What better way to enjoy a sunny afternoon than exploring our beautiful garden?

Our gardener Mike took residents on a tour of the outdoor spaces around the home, showing everyone some of the new greenery he has recently planted.

We also stopped by the home-grown vegetable patch, where Mike picked a few fresh vegetables for residents to see and admire.

It was a lovely afternoon of sunshine, fresh air and conversation, with residents enjoying the chance to discover more about the garden they know and love.

✨ Strictly Extravaganza 2027 has officially launched! ✨

Colten Care are proud to be the headline sponsor of Forest Holme Hospice Charity's Strictly Extravaganza, and were delighted to recently welcome this year’s ten contestants, their professional partners and the Forest Holme team to Bourne View for the official launch.

As part of our partnership, selected rehearsals will also take place at Bourne View, giving our residents the chance to enjoy a special behind-the-scenes view of the contestants as they perfect their routines. Residents from other Colten Care homes in the BCP area will be invited to join them too 💃🕺

Strictly Extravaganza raises vital funds for Forest Holme Hospice; we’re delighted to be supporting such a wonderful local event and can’t wait to see the contestants’ journeys unfold ✨

There was a wonderful reason to celebrate at Bourne View as Wendy Barnes marked her 95th birthday surrounded by friends, Companions and colleagues.

After lunch, everyone surprised Wendy with Happy Birthday, followed by a beautiful handmade Victoria sponge from our kitchen team, decorated with flowers freshly picked from the garden.

Wendy loved the cake so much that she decided to save it for afternoon tea, so everyone could enjoy a slice together. 💕

“It was certainly a memorable birthday,” said Wendy. “Thank you to everyone who made it special.”

A beautiful afternoon surrounded by flowers! 🌸

Residents from Bourne View enjoyed a lovely trip to Haskins Garden Centre in Ferndown, exploring the colourful displays, sharing gardening memories and enjoying refreshments in the café.

Myrtle loved visiting the roses, while June enjoyed stopping to smell the flowers and taking in all the wonderful scents.

Residents celebrated International Picnic Day with plenty of homemade treats 🧺

Together they prepared sausage rolls, cheese twists and fruit skewers before sitting down to enjoy them. The afternoon finished with a picnic-themed quiz and word searches, rounding off a lovely day together.
