The baking soda helps absorb lingering odours, leaving carpets smelling fresher while you clean. Just be sure your vacuum manufacturer’s guidance allows for vacuuming baking soda, as some models may not recommend it.

Bonus: Empty the hoover bin or replace the bag when it’s around two-thirds full—suction power often drops before it’s completely full. 💜

Whenever possible, handle an item only once:

* Instead of putting mail on the counter, sort it immediately.
* Instead of leaving a coat on a chair, hang it up when you take it off.

A lot of household mess comes from moving the same items multiple times. The one-touch rule reduces clutter before it starts and can make tidying up much faster.
