What an incredible summer we’ve been having here in Dorset, we hope you’ve been enjoying it so far 🤗

Now let’s talk about staying hydrated. It’s easy to underestimate just how important staying hydrated is for your body. Water plays a vital role in keeping your muscles, joints and tissues working as they should and even mild dehydration can contribute to fatigue, muscle cramps and feelings of stiffness.

If you’re spending time outdoors, exercising, or simply enjoying the sunshine, make a conscious effort to drink water regularly throughout the day rather than waiting until you feel thirsty🚰🩵

An extra little challenge is to pay attention to how much better you feel when you do!

Nothing says summer quite like a day at the beach - especially here in beautiful Dorset. Whether you’re spending the day relaxing, exploring the coastline, or entertaining little ones, it’s worth taking a few simple steps to look after your body while you’re there.

💦Warm weather can increase your risk of dehydration, which can contribute to fatigue and headaches. Make sure you’re drinking water regularly throughout the day, especially if you’re walking, swimming, or spending extended periods in the sun.

🧴Don’t forget to reapply suncream and seek shade where possible to give your body regular breaks from direct sunlight.

⛱️It’s also worth thinking about how you carry your belongings. Heavy cool bags, beach chairs, and bags carried on one shoulder can place extra strain on your neck, shoulders, and back. Where possible, distribute weight evenly, use backpacks, avoid carrying more than you need and share the load!

A few small adjustments can help you stay comfortable, protected, and ready to make the most of those summer beach days.

We’re already halfway through the year, which can feel hard to believe. Now is a good time to pause and reflect, not just on goals and productivity, but on how well you’ve been looking after yourself too.

Have you made time for rest? For movement? For recovery?

Looking after your wellbeing doesn’t have to mean doing everything perfectly. It’s the small, consistent changes that make the biggest difference over time.

It’s also important to acknowledge how far you’ve come so far this year, even if progress hasn’t looked exactly how you expected.

The Aries team are here to support you at every stage 🌞💙

🌞As the summer season is in full swing, many of us swap supportive shoes for sandals, sliders or flip-flops without thinking too much about it. While they’re perfect for comfort and keeping your feet cool, some summer footwear can place extra strain on the feet, ankles, knees and even lower back if worn for long periods.

Your feet are the foundation of your whole body, think about how hard they work everyday. Shoes that are too flat, unsupportive, or loose can quickly cause discomfort.

If you’re spending more time walking this summer, try to choose footwear that offers support, cushioning and stability where possible. Think about the day ahead when you’re getting ready and don’t forget to prioritise your feet! 👣

Summer schedules can get busy very quickly and it’s easy for routines to slip when holidays, social plans and embracing the summer season take over. This is your friendly reminder that staying consistent with your treatment plan during this time can make a huge difference to your progress.

Your bespoke treatment plan at Aries is designed to support long-term improvement, not just short-term relief. Staying accountable with appointments, exercises and recovery over summer can help keep you active, comfortable and free of discomfort.

Our tip to staying accountable? Have your next 3-5 appointments booked in at a time that works for you. Tap the Contact button on our profile to arrange yours 📲💙

Summer often means longer days out and about in our gorgeous local area, with weather like we’ve been having recently, how lucky are we to call Dorset home? Beach trips, festivals, walks, travelling, gardening… perfect! 🏖️

While it’s lovely (and encouraged!) to be more active, sudden increases in activity can sometimes leave your body feeling more tired, tight, or sore than expected 😖

Before a busy day, try to prepare your body with gentle movement, supportive footwear, and staying hydrated. During the day, small things like taking breaks, changing positions regularly and listening to early signs of discomfort can make a big difference.

Afterwards, give your body time to recover properly. Rest, hydration, stretching and lighter movement the following day can all help reduce stiffness and support recovery so you can enjoy the summer without lingering aches and pains ☀️

Being honest during your appointment is one of the most important parts of helping us support you properly. Whether it’s describing your symptoms, sharing lifestyle habits, or telling us when something doesn’t feel quite right, every detail helps us work out what your body needs.

Sometimes people worry about “saying the wrong thing” or feel they should push through pain. But there is never any judgement at Aries, our role is to understand what’s going on and work with you to create the most effective treatment plan possible.

Open communication also helps us adapt your treatment as your body changes and responds over time. The more we understand about how you’re feeling, the better we can support your recovery and long-term wellbeing 🫂💙

Let’s talk tech neck! Not sure what it is? Tech neck is a repetitive strain condition caused by bad posture when using your smartphone, leading to increased stress (and discomfort) on the neck and shoulders.

Over time it can take a real toll on the neck and shoulders. Looking down for prolonged periods places increased strain on your muscles, often leading to stiffness, tension and headaches.

A few small changes can make a big difference:
🤳Bring your phone up closer to eye level where possible
📴Take regular breaks to move and reset your posture
🧘🏻‍♀️Gently stretch your neck and shoulders throughout the day

It’s not about eliminating screen time completely (let’s be realistic!), but being more aware of your body. If you’re already noticing discomfort, let this be your sign to get in touch to discuss a treatment plan.

Most people have experienced a small “niggle”. A slight ache, a bit of tightness, something that feels noticeable but not quite serious enough to act on. It’s very easy to ignore and hope it will go away on its own. Sound familiar? We’re not trying to call you out, promise! 🤗

These minor symptoms are often your body’s early warning signs. When ignored, your body may start to compensate, changing the way you move and placing extra strain on other areas. Over time, this can turn something small and manageable into something more persistent and limiting 😖

Listening to your body early doesn’t mean overreacting, it’s a sign of care and respect for yourself.
