There is a stage of recovery that many people reach where life has largely returned to normal.

You may be working again.
Socialising more.
Exercising gently.
Participating in daily life in ways that once felt impossible.

And yet, your system may still experience occasional fluctuations.

Energy might dip after a busy week.
Sleep may become more fragile during stressful periods.
Your nervous system might still feel sensitive to certain types of load.

“I have a complex history of fatigue, heavy metals, mould and post-viral fatigue. I caught Covid and had a major relapse; experiencing anxiety, insomnia and was highly reactive to relaxation practises. Did your fatigue / chronic illness experience start after an acute infection? If the answer is yes, then this is what you want to know. ☝️

I always get asked questions about the Cyrex Tests so here is some more information. Cyrex Testing is a US based laboratory that we have access to here in the UK. I have also had clients in Europe and Australia access their testing regime.

They are a private testing company so you will pay out of pocket for their tests and this needs to be done through an appropriately qualified practitioner e.g. Nutritional Therapist, Functional Medicine Practitioner or Doctor.

The tests can be a huge investment but I have found them very helpful in some cases to gain more clarity around what is actually going on - especially if there is a family history of Autoimmunity.

For those experiencing Long Covid, many are finding it insightful to test antibodies to Angiotensin II Type 1 receptor (AT1R), Beta1-adrenergic receptor (b1-AdR), Beta2-adrenergic receptor (b1-AdR), Endothelin Receptor, subtype A (ETAR), Muscarinic choline receptor 3 (M3R) and Muscarinic choline receptor 4 (M4R).

There are some schools of thought that suggest poorly functioning adrenal glands could be an underlying cause in chronic fatigue. Although imbalanced adrenal function could be part of the complex web of fatigue, it is more likely to be a piece of the puzzle than the whole puzzle itself.

That being said, when it comes to recovering energy and vitality, there is seldom one magic solution. Instead, improvements happen when we support the body as a whole. Part of that support may include supporting the adrenal glands.
