Port Talbot Funeral Service

Port Talbot Funeral Service Independent Funeral Services | Private Chapel of Rest | 24 Hour Personal Service It closed its doors in 2008 as a Church and was left to deteriorate.

Holy Cross Church, otherwise known as the Chapel of Ease was built in 1827 with the permission of Margams 'Talbot' family. Plans were sought to change the Church into a house, which included relocating several headstones and surfacing over those graves to provide a parking area. However, Mr Malcolm Evans, a lifelong member of the Church and local funeral director purchased this beautiful building

and restored it to its former glory including the magnificent stained glass window. The surrounding grounds are also maintained meaning the final resting place for your loved ones is both a beautiful and peaceful place to visit.

It’s been a little while since we checked in with our famous four, so we thought it was about time for an update!

After the summer heat, Eddie, Summer, Emily and Father Ben seem to be very happy with the cooler weather. They’re back to doing what they do best, exploring the grounds, tackling the brambles and overgrowth, and generally getting up to their usual mischief! 😂

And judging by this photo, they’ve also discovered that four goats can apparently fit quite comfortably on one grave… 🤦‍♂️🐐

They really have become such a loved part of Holy Cross and we’re still amazed by the interest and support they continue to receive. We’ve had visitors, photos, videos, artwork and messages from people near and far, all because of these four cheeky characters!

They’re all keeping well and, as you can see, very much enjoying life at the chapel.

We’ll try not to leave it so long before the next update… although we can’t promise the goats will cooperate! 😂🐐❤️

Here at Port Talbot Funeral Services, we’re incredibly proud of our town, its people and everything that makes Port Talbot such a special place.

The famous goats have brought so many smiles to the community and have become a much-loved part of local life. We wanted to do something special to celebrate them, so we’ve been working alongside Nigel from San Portablo to create this exclusive T-shirt design—and now we would love to hear what you think!

Would you wear this T-shirt in your everyday life? Which colour would you choose? And would you be interested in owning one if we decided to have them made?

This is more than just a T-shirt—it’s a celebration of our famous four-legged friends, our community and a little piece of Port Talbot history.

Please take a look at the design, leave your honest thoughts in the comments and share it with anyone who loves the goats as much as we do. Your feedback will help us decide whether to bring these tops to life!

💜 It means more than you know…

Receiving feedback like this from a family we have had the privilege of supporting means so much to all of us at Port Talbot Funeral Service.

We take enormous pride in what we do, but more importantly, we take pride in how we do it. Every family is different, and every farewell deserves to be personal, thoughtful and carried out with care, compassion and attention to every little detail.

Knowing that the personal touches, from the Chapel of Rest through to the crematorium, made a difficult time a little more special for this family is exactly why we do what we do.

A heartfelt thank you to the family for taking the time to share their kind words and for trusting us to look after their loved one. 🖤

🎉 WE’VE JUST PASSED 1,400 FOLLOWERS! 🎉

This is a HUGE milestone for us, and one that we’re incredibly proud of. 🖤

Since we started supporting Port Talbot Funeral Service back in April, we’ve welcomed over 1,100 new followers to our page.

For a local, independent funeral service, that means so much. It shows us that people are taking notice of what we’re doing, the work we’re putting into Holy Cross Chapel of Rest, and, most importantly, the care and personal service we’re committed to providing to local families.

Every like, follow, share, recommendation and kind message helps us reach more people in our community.

We’re not here simply to provide a funeral service. We’re here to support families, look after our community and build something we can all be proud of.

1,400 followers and counting… ❤️

From all of us at Port Talbot Funeral Service, thank you for your continued support. It genuinely means more than you know.

There are moments when words simply aren’t needed. 🕊️

Today, we captured a quiet moment inside Holy Cross Chapel of Rest, with Ludovico Einaudi’s I Giorni playing gently through the church speakers, whilst the afternoon sunlight streamed through our iconic stained glass window and across the altar.

Holy Cross is more than a place of farewell. It is a place where families can come together, spend time with their loved ones, reflect, pray and find comfort during some of the most difficult moments in life.

The church is available for private viewings, and we can also help families arrange a church service where this is what they wish for.

Our aim is to provide a calm, peaceful and personal environment where families can feel supported from the moment they walk through our doors.

Sometimes, having a quiet place to sit, remember and simply be together can mean everything.
