On Tuesday, Ireland House officially opened their beautifully refurbished garden! 🎉🌺

The weather might not have been quite on our side ☁️🌧️, but that certainly didn’t dampen our spirits as everyone enjoyed seeing the wonderful new outdoor space.

We were also joined by a very special guest for the occasion… the gorgeous Mollie the dog! 🐶❤️ Needless to say, she was a very popular addition to the celebrations and enjoyed plenty of attention!

Here’s to lots of happy days, fresh air and sunshine (hopefully! ☀️🤞) being enjoyed in the new garden. 🌷🌿💚

🍑🍦🎶 Peachy Treats & a Spontaneous Sing-Along! 🎶🍦🍑

Saturday didn’t quite go according to plan, but sometimes the unplanned moments turn out to be just as enjoyable! ❤️

To celebrate National Peach Day, residents enjoyed some Peach Melba-inspired treats. When it came down to it, everyone fancied a good old-fashioned ice cream cone instead – so we skipped the slippery peaches and enjoyed the ice cream! 🍦😂

Our planned entertainment unfortunately couldn’t go ahead, but that certainly didn’t stop us! Pat jumped on the piano in the foyer and the rest of us provided the vocals, turning it into a brilliant impromptu sing-along. 🎹🎤🎶

Plenty of familiar songs, smiles, laughter and ice cream made for a lovely Saturday afternoon – proof that we can always make our own entertainment! 🥰👏

🌈🎶🍹 Summer Festival Fun! 🍹🎶🌈

Thursday afternoon was all about music, colour and plenty of fun as we held our Summer Festival! ☀️🎉

With a neon theme, glow sticks and plenty of fun props, we got the party started with hit songs from the 1940s, 50s and 60s, mixed in with some much-loved party favourites. 🎵✨

No festival would be complete without refreshments, so residents tucked into the classic cheese and pineapple 🧀🍍 and enjoyed a refreshing summer cocktail to wash it all down. 🍹

As the party got into full swing, some of our residents were soon up on their feet showing us their moves! 💃🕺 There were lots of smiles, singing and laughter, and a great time was had by all. ❤️

And just when we thought the party was over, Rose and Veronica finished the afternoon with a quick impromptu game of bingo! 😂

What a brilliant afternoon! 🌈🥳

🎬🍦 Saturday Afternoon at Ireland House 🍿📽️

Our Saturday continued with a trip back to the golden age of cinema! ✨

Residents settled down to enjoy a Laurel and Hardy short film, followed by a Charlie Chaplin short, bringing plenty of smiles and laughter. 😂🎞️

And what’s a trip to the pictures without a treat? Everyone enjoyed some ice cream while they watched. 🍦

We also spent time looking through old photographs of Hollywood stars, local cinemas from years gone by and vintage cinema tickets, sparking lots of memories and conversations about trips to the pictures in days gone by. 🎟️📸

A lovely nostalgic Saturday afternoon at Ireland House! ❤️
