You don’t have to believe your thoughts.💭

A thought can feel incredibly convincing and still be wrong.

Your mind produces predictions, fears, assumptions, memories, stories and worst-case scenarios all day long.

It doesn’t mean they’re facts.

It means your brain is doing what brains do: trying to interpret the world.

I’m going to fail.
They don’t like me.
I’m not good enough.
This will never work.

You can notice the thought without accepting it as truth.

Try adding these words:
I’m having the thought…

I’m having the thought that I might fail.

That tiny shift creates distance between you and the thought.

You are the person noticing the thought.

You are not the thought itself.

And you don’t need to replace every negative thought with a positive one.

Sometimes you simply need to stop treating every thought as an instruction.

Let the mind talk.

Learn to understand that thoughts are just predictions.

Predictions are based upon past experiences.

You can learn from your past, but you don’t need to let it shape your future.

Look for the patterns and beliefs that you hold, ask yourself ‘how old were you when you first learnt to believe them’?

It’s not about digging deeper or imposing more restriction upon yourself.

It’s actually a lot simpler, and easier. ☺️

It all starts with your breakfast. 🥚☕️

When you break your fast, AND what you break it with. ⏰

Your willpower is tied to your blood sugars and insulin levels. The more unstable they are, the more your sense of will power will disappear.

Here’s what works for me and my clients.

1. Intermittent fasting, push that window, I usually break my fast around 10.30 - 11am. Not always, but mostly.

2. Dump the carby/sugary processed breakfast.

3. Break your fast with protein, fat & fibre. For me that’s Greek yoghurt, lots of pomegranate seeds, blueberries, nuts & seeds.

Give it a go, you might be surprised to find you have a bit more willpower than you think 💪

Yes, really 🤪

Because sometimes the way out of an anxious thought loop isn’t to think your way out of it.

It’s to get back into your body.

Tongue posture and anxiety might seem completely unrelated, but they can become part of the same mind–body feedback loop.

Your brain is constantly monitoring what’s happening inside your body, your breathing, heart rate, muscle tension, posture and sensations, and using that information to help interpret how you’re feeling.

That’s interoception.

It’s a big part of how we recognise and regulate emotion.

So what’s your tongue got to do with it?
Where the tongue sits can influence what’s happening around the jaw, neck shoulders and spine, affecting how we breathe and hold the body.

The brain reads the body.

Which brings me to golf. 🏌️‍♀️
Yesterday was a rubbish round.
I kept lifting my head. I know why.
I was rushing to see if I’d hit the ball ok.
That little moment of anxiety creates a physical response.

I tense.
I move.
I anticipate.
And then…
I hit a rubbish shot. 😤😂

And what do I instinctively want to do?
Think about it more.
Analyse it.
Try harder.
Control the thought.

But when the brain is caught in a loop, sometimes more thinking isn’t the answer.

We need to change the information coming back from the body.

So next time I’m standing over that golf ball, I’m going to try something much simpler.

Check my tongue. 👅😂
Where is it
Is my jaw relaxed
Am I holding my breath
Can I soften my body

Try this:
👅 Say “Nnnnn” and notice where your tongue naturally lands.
👅 Let it rest gently against the roof of your mouth, behind your front teeth.
😮‍💨 Relax your jaw, close your lips and take a few slow breaths through your nose.

Then simply notice.
Your jaw.
Your neck.
Your shoulders.
Your breathing.
And most importantly…

What do you notice inside?

Sometimes the way out of the thought loop isn’t to think harder.

It’s to come back into the body.

Your body is constantly sending information back to your brain.

Note to self:
Stop thinking.
Check the tongue. 😝
Relax the shoulders.
Breathe.
And just hit the bloody ball. 😂🏌️‍♀️

Dogs, don’t you love them 🤦‍♀️

Anyway, if you want to hack your health, when you’ve finished eating, get up and move, even if it’s just to go up and down the stairs.

As little as 2 minutes of movement, has a significant effect on lowering blood glucose levels. Your muscles are the storage cupboard for glucose, but you’ve got to use them to open the door to the storage facility.

And, before anyone mentions it, yes calorie in/out matters, but that’s not the language of health, your blood glucose and insulin levels are.

Get moving 💕

It’s still a question I ask myself, but not because I doubt it.

I knew nothing about hypnotherapy when it first came into my life.

It happened quite by chance, and looking back, I couldn’t have needed it at a better time.

I’ve always been a big believer in the synchronicity of life. That sometimes things arrive exactly when we need them, even if we don’t understand why at the time.

Hypnotherapy helped me profoundly.

It gave my mind the space it needed to process the enormous amount of sh*t that life was throwing at me at that point.

There was something about it that was both gentle and subtle…and yet incredibly powerful.

It changed things for me, I wouldn’t be the person I am today without it.

From helping me personally, to now allowing me to witness the powerful change it brings for other people.

And then, every now and again, you get reminded just how far that ripple can travel.

Last week, a friend said to me that the single best piece of advice she’d ever received was when I told her to encourage her son to try hypnotherapy.

She said the transformation in him had been amazing!

And moments like that make me stop and think…
What is it with hypnotherapy?

Maybe it’s that sometimes the biggest changes don’t come from trying harder.

Maybe they come from finally giving your mind the space to do something different.

And perhaps that’s why I’m still so fascinated by it.

The only health hack you might actually need 😊

To be honest, I’m sick of scrolling through social media seeing one hack or another 🙄

Hack your metabolism.
Hack your hormones.
Hack your appetite.
Hack your sleep.
Hack your blood sugar.
Hack your cortisol

The whole thing is at complete odds with what we actually need !

You can’t shortcut your way to good sleep, nutrition, movement or sunlight, because these things need consistency 🙈

Health isn’t built from the things you do once.
It’s built from the things you do often. The things you do most of the time, not some of the time.

So if you really want to hack something…

Hack your mind.

Because your mind is where the resistance lives.

I’ll start Monday.
I deserve it.
I’ve already messed up today.
I don’t feel like it.

That old story that says this is just who I am 🥱

That’s the part that needs changing. 🧠

Not because your mind is the problem.

But because your thoughts, beliefs and habits determine what you repeatedly do.

And what you repeatedly do…
is what changes your health.

Stop looking for the next health hack.
Start working on the thing that determines whether you actually stick with it.

Your mind.

Empower your journey, strengthen the changes you are making. Don’t rent your weight loss, own it!

I teach you how to silence food noise.

Food noise is both biological & psychological.

It’s metabolic health & emotion regulation skills.

July went by in a blink of an eye, it’s been a month crammed full !!

Life will never stop, it will never be quiet enough, and that’s what’s so wonderful about life.

It will never give you just the right moment to start focusing on yourself, because the right moment is always now ☺️

There is always something else happening around the corner.

Stop thinking that you need to wait until after your holidays, birthdays, going out days…

The right moment to learn how to make good choices is right now, whilst you’re living life.

Find your why 💫 make it powerful 💫

When it becomes strong enough, it acts as the pause that the brain needs. This is what pulls the mind into making the choices that you want.

The ‘why’ is the cognitive pause that helps shift the brain out of the automatic.

And when we add hypnosis to the ‘why’ it becomes an extremely powerful tool 💪🧠

Stop waiting, change happens whilst you live life, whilst you keep moving forward, not whilst you’re standing still.
