Sometimes the best part of paddleboarding... is not paddling at all. 💙
I recently hosted a private birthday session for a lovely group of teenage girls.
We started with some body rolling to release tight backs, shoulders and legs — something I find teenagers really benefit from with all the sitting, studying, sport and time spent at desks.
Then we headed out on the paddleboards.
And I’ve noticed something lovely when I take teenage groups onto the water.
Once they realise they can paddle and feel comfortable on their boards, quite often they just want to stop.
They lie on their tummies or backs, trail their hands in the water, chat, laugh... or simply float.
So I have little anchors that allow us to find a peaceful spot, secure the boards and just be there for a while.
And I love that.
Teenage life can be incredibly busy — early mornings, long school days, sport, homework, exams, part-time jobs, friendships, hormones and all the pressures that come with growing up.
Perhaps sometimes they don’t need us to fill every minute with another activity.
Sometimes they need permission to lie down, look at the sky and do absolutely nothing.
And the sea is a pretty wonderful place to do it. 🌊💙
Private birthday & group sessions available — Body Rolling + Paddleboarding + plenty of time to float.
