A huge congratulations to Shiree, our April Caring Star! 🌟 Shiree was nominated for her outstanding support and dedication to her colleagues and residents. Working through the night takes compassion, patience and commitment, and Shiree consistently goes above and beyond to ensure both residents and her colleagues feel supported and cared for. Every resident has a unique story, personality, and passion that makes them who they are. ❤️

We’re creating a special portrait gallery to celebrate the people who call our home their home, with each portrait reflecting something meaningful and dear to that individual resident.

Residents are warmly encouraged to paint their own portrait, either independently or with support from our team. Family members and loved ones are also invited to get involved. If you would like to create a portrait that represents your loved one and contribute to our gallery, we would love to hear from you.

This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate individuality, encourage creativity, and showcase the things that bring joy, comfort, and meaning to those we support.

We’re delighted to share that our very own Latham Lodge Shopping Trolley is now ready for our residents to use! 💙

We know that it’s not always easy, or possible, for everyone to pop out to the shops for those little everyday essentials or favourite treats. That’s why we’ve created our specialised shopping trolley, giving residents more choice, independence and convenience within the home.

From toiletries and snacks to those little bits and bobs that make a difference to everyday life, our trolley is here to help residents access the items they want, when they need them.

This is just the beginning, and we’d love your help! If you have any suggestions for items you’d like to see stocked on our trolley, please let us know in the comments or speak to a member of the team. We’d love to hear your ideas as we continue to shape it around the preferences and wishes of our residents.

At Latham Lodge, we’re always looking for ways to support choice, promote independence, and make everyday life that little bit easier. 💙

Today marks the end of an incredible era at Latham Lodge.

For over 25 years, Helen has been so much more than our hairdresser—she has been a true friend to our residents, always taking the time to listen, chat, and make each person feel valued and special.

We all know the confidence and happiness that comes with a fresh hairstyle or a little pampering, and Helen has given that gift to countless people over the years. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering loyalty have made her a cherished part of the Latham Lodge family, and her presence will be deeply missed by residents, families, and staff alike.

Helen, thank you for everything you have done for us over the past 25 years. Your dedication, warmth, and friendship have touched so many lives, and we will always be grateful.

Last week was very busy indeed at Latham Lodge for Care home open week.

Thank you to everyone that came to support and to enjoy our activities. As well as the World Cup ⚽️ we had fancy dress, a BBQ, live music and entertainment from the amazing Annie Jo and our own very own successful Friday afternoon karaoke singalong as well a very special 95th birthday to celebrate and finish the week off.

Today at Latham Lodge we celebrated International Nurses Day and recognised the dedication, compassion, professionalism, and commitment shown by our incredible nursing team every single day.

Although not all of our nurses were with us today, each and every one of them is truly appreciated and celebrated for the outstanding care and support they provide to our residents and to the home. Thank you for the kindness, strength, and reassurance you bring to others every day. Thank you to our RGNs Sherrian,Vera, Yvonne, Ioana, Smarty, Alison, Ellen, Amorelle ❤️

We were also delighted to welcome Michelle French, Clinical Trainer for Caring Homes, to join in our celebrations and to recognise the “Power of Nurses 2026” alongside our team.

A very special celebration was also held today for our wonderful Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead, Sherrian, as she celebrated her 50th birthday! Thank you, Sherrian, for your continued leadership, dedication, and support to Latham Lodge — we hope you had a fantastic day celebrating with us all.

At Latham Lodge, we believe that every birthday is more than just a date on the Calendar - it is a special moment to celebrate life, memories, and individuality of each person in our home.

For our residents, birthdays are incredibly important, which is why we now keep a dedicated birthday Calendar to make sure no one is ever missed. From thoughtful cards and presents to a favourite cake ready in advance, we want every resident to feel valued, remembered, and truly celebrated on their special day.

It is just as important to recognise the milestones of our team members too, because they are such a meaningful part of our Latham lodge family.

Blake has only just recently joined our care home team, and the look of surprise on his face in this video says it all when he arrived for his night shift last night to a birthday celebration waiting for him.

Happy 21st birthday Blake, from all the staff and residents at Latham lodge and Caring Homes. We hope you have a wonderful day and know you are appreciated ❤️

This week Reshma Radhakrishnan received her Caring Star of the month awards for February & March 2026. Reshma was nominated by her colleagues and residents with comments noted as “she is always so friendly and kind” & “Reshma works really hard and is someone people feel like they can turn to and they can rely on”

Management recently appointed Reshma as Lathams People Moving & Handling trainer and noted that Reshma did extensive research and delivered some well thought out and informative sessions.

Staff who attended these sessions also mentioned how good they thought the training was. So from all of us at Latham Lodge & Caring Homes we just want to say a huge thank you for all your hard work. We hope you enjoy your flowers and vouchers.

Today is also Reshma’s 30th Birthday so please join us in wishing her a Very Happy Birthday 🥳
