Samantha's journey into Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine started 8 years ago when she decided that she would love a career in healthcare. She completed a course in Higher Education into Nursing before training successfully as a Dental Nurse; it i

s from here that Samantha's passion to help people grew. Samantha herself turned to Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine to help her with a health condition of her own and found the results were amazing! After that, she researched the background on this incredible ancient medicine and fell in love with the way that Traditional Chinese Medicine viewed and treated illness. Samantha is now a fully qualified Acupuncturist after successfully completing a 4 year Bachelor of Science Honours Degree at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine- a well established learning facility in Reading. She then went on to do further training is Cosmetic Acupuncture with Paul Atkins- founder and owner of Facial Enhance UK.

You probably know me as The Fertility Detective.
But that's obviously not my entire personality. 😂

I'm Samantha, an Acupuncturist. But I'm also Sammi...

A wife. A mum.
A best friend.
A daughter. A sister.
A business owner.
And depending on where you know me from, probably something completely different again!

I'm a Ta**us. My current favourite colour is green. I love the gym and a good rom-com. I've worked in Acupuncture for over 10 years, I've been married for 10 years… and I'm absolutely terrified of clowns. 😂

Acupuncture — and particularly fertility — is a huge part of my life. I genuinely love what I do.

But it's not all of me.

And I think that's easy to forget on social media.

Behind the qualifications, clinic posts, fertility facts, business updates and carefully selected photos, there's just a person.

We all wear different hats. We're professionals, partners, friends, clients, colleagues. Sometimes we're the person who knows exactly what they're doing, and sometimes we're figuring it out as we go.

And I actually think that matters in healthcare.

Because when you're talking to someone about your periods, fertility, s*x life, bowel movements and everything else I inevitably ask you about 😂, you need to feel comfortable with the person sitting opposite you.

So this is a little bit of Samantha beyond The Fertility Detective.
And I think I might let you see a little more of her on here. 🤍

I have been very quiet recently, so here's a little bit of exciting news from behind the scenes and what I've been doing… 📚🔎

I’ve officially been accepted onto the Specialist Fertility Acupuncture Postgraduate Diploma with Irina Szmelskyj.

Fertility already makes up a huge part of my clinical work and it’s an area I’ve spent years learning, researching and developing my knowledge in — but there is always more to learn.

This diploma is an opportunity for me to take that knowledge even further, deepen my clinical reasoning and continue developing the way I support the fertility patients who trust me with their care.

And, on completion, I’ll be able to formally call myself a Fertility Acupuncture Specialist, rather than simply saying that fertility is my special interest.

Which feels like a pretty big milestone. 🥹

So apparently, alongside running a busy clinic, researching, home life and everything else happening behind the scenes… I’ve decided I needed some postgraduate study in my life too. 😂

But genuinely, I am SO excited to get stuck into this.

The Fertility Detective is going back to school. 🔎📚

A little highlight from Saturday 🤍

I had the pleasure of being invited to join the fertility Q&A panel at the Endometriosis South Coast Support Group Fun Day.

We had some brilliant questions from the audience and some really interesting conversations around fertility, endometriosis and the different challenges people can face when trying to conceive.

One of my favourite things about events like this is being able to have the conversations that we often just don't get enough time or space for — asking questions, sharing knowledge and helping people understand a little more about what might be going on in their own bodies.

It was also lovely to sit alongside other professionals, hear different perspectives and be part of such an open and supportive discussion.

A big thank you to endometriosis south coast for inviting me to be part of the day and for all the work you do to support those living with endometriosis and adenomyosis 💛

Definitely a conversation I could have happily carried on for another few hours! 😂🔎

Apparently being fertility-aware is kinda chic now… and I’m here for it 💅🏼🔎

Knowing your cycle. Asking questions. Getting copies of your results. Remembering fertility is a two-person conversation. And choosing curiosity over blaming your body.

Basically, the more you understand about your fertility, the better equipped you are to advocate for yourself.

And Acupuncture appointments?
Obviously meetings... Very important ones. 😉😂
