This came up again today, seems to be a thing with dancers etc who are trying to be able to do the splits so one leg has to lengthen a lot at the front.

Too much flexibility is going to cause weakness so make sure you are doing strength training along side your flexibility work.

This won’t fix everyone but no harm giving it a try to see if you notice any difference.

I’m not an S&C coach and far from it but…

I do think that everyone should be training for/with their sport.

Training for the demands of the sport you do will lower your chances of injury, keep you in the game longer and improve your performance.

It doesn’t matter what that sport is, whether it’s golf and you work on rotational power, mobility and strength. Or you just enjoy running then work on ankle, knee and hip strength.

The improvement in aesthetics from training from for your sport with be the by product. Not the other way round. Bro splits may make you look good but you’ll move like s**t on the pitch.

It’s not that I am against stretching it’s just that it’s the first thing everyone reaches for when they feel a pain or tightness in a certain area.

What I find works better is releasing muscles/ tissue that is the opposite to the muscles that feels tight and then doing some strength work to the muscle that feels tight.

Myself and my clients all feel that this has a longer lasting effect on the muscle than just stretching it and hoping for the best.

Any questions on this or any treatments don’t hesitate to send me a message.

Sent this out to a client today so thought I’d share.

This is really good if you feel like you a bit short of breath or you can’t get that full inhale.
Also can help with back and neck tightness as it will encourage movement in the diaphragm itself which is where we are meant to breath.

As always pair it with some type of movement after to use the space you have created.

Any questions hit me up.

Obviously every client is different but any time we are treating wrists we should be looking at the neck down and not just the wrist itself.

This was a pretty good result for such a short time period, not usually this quick but sure instagram is all for the highlights.

Obviously client will be back in again for some more treatment and moving on to better exercises to help things heading in the right direction.

I know I said anterior but can’t be arsed doing a voice over again.

This is something I’ve been using with a couple of clients recently to get the whole body feeling connected and move as one.

When lifting heavy and isolating muscles for better strength/size gains we can lose a lot of that natural movement.

Working on our “slings” can help keep/ improve that movement so we still feel everything working as one.

This is also really good as a shoulder stabilizer exercise as we get the shoulder and opposite hip working together.

Been doing a lot more heavy lifting recently and obviously it can take its toll on the shoulder joint.

I’ve been doing these for a few reps at the end of upper body sessions and I feel they’ve really helped keeping the shoulders mobile while increasing strength.

Bit of a long one but hope this helps.

I’m not one for the whole insta one exercise to fix all your problems but this is something I use with a lot of clients with a range of issues from foot problems to lower back pain.

I find this really good for getting the feeling of the feet and glutes firing together and for the posterior chain as a whole.

This is not a follow along for you just an example of what I fire out to clients for after their treatment to work on at home.

Your body is electric

By using Microcurrent Therapy we are basically restoring that electrical imbalance in the tissue, this is why it responds so well to the treatment.

It’s like a little kick start to reduce pain and speed up the healing process. Making it a lot easier to do rehab/ exercises to help things actually stick.

This is why it has helped so many return to sport so much faster after injuries and not be sitting on the sidelines for half a season.
