Dearly loved husband to Irene, much loved dad to Carol, Alan, John and the late Christine, father in law to Martyn, Susan and Angela, also a devoted grandad and great grandad and a dear brother to Evelyn.
Dick will be sadly missed by all his family, friends and all who knew him.

With the permission of John’s family, we sadly announce that on Wednesday 14th October, John passed away peacefully aged 77 years.
Fondly remembered by Jacqui, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, much-loved dad to Nicola, Toni and Amanda, a cherished grandad and great-grandad (Pop), a dear brother and uncle.
John was a well known member of the local community and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

At the request of Ray’s family and with their permission, we sadly announce that on Tuesday, 21st July 2026, Ray passed away, aged 69 years.

A much-loved son of Jean and the late Bob, husband to Tina and devoted father to Tom, a dearly loved brother to Selina, Cindy and Tammy and a dear uncle to Jaxson and Geena.
Ray will always hold a special place in our hearts.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at St. Oswald’s Church Hall on Friday, 6 November 2026 at 1.30pm.
Light refreshments will be served in the Hall afterwards, allowing time to share your memories of Ray.

Donations in memory of Ray will go to St Oswald's fund and The British Heart Foundation.

John Arthur Rhodes

At the request of John’s family, and with their permission, we sadly announce on Wednesday 30th September, John passed away peacefully aged 78 years after a short illness.

A dearly loved husband to Sheila. Much loved dad to Andrea, Karen & Daryl, dear father-in-law to John, Alan & much loved Claire and devoted grandad to Sam, Hannah, Holly, Amy, Abby and Louise and cherished great grandad to Freya, Luca, Toby and Hudson.

John was also a great friend to many and will be dearly missed by all.

John’s funeral service will take place at Hambleton Church on Monday 19th October at 1:00pm prior to a burial at Preesall Cemetery.
You are all welcome to The Shovels, Hambleton after the service to share refreshments and memories of John.

Joan Elizabeth Stevens

At the request of Joan’s family, and with their permission, we sadly announce that Joan passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on 21st September 2026, aged 82 years.

A dearly loved wife to John, much loved mum to Karen and Claire, cherished mother in law to Paul and Jason and devoted nana to Hannah, Charlotte and Sophie.
Joan will be sadly missed by all her family, friends and all who knew her.
Joan worked at Carter’s Charity School from the late 1970s until her retirement in 2003. It was a job she truly loved, and she took great pride and pleasure in helping and nurturing the little ones as they began their school years. Over the many years she worked there, Joan touched the lives of countless children and families, leaving behind many happy memories.

Joan’s funeral service will be held at St Oswald’s Church Preesall on Tuesday 13th October at 11:00am followed by burial at Preesall Cemetery.

You are all welcome to join the family at St Oswlad’s Church Hall, Preesall after the service to share refreshments and memories.
