It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joan Patricia Hughes have asked us to announce her passing and funeral arrangements.

Joan sadly passed away on Sunday 26th July 2026 at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Devoted Wife to Stephen.
Loving Mum to Joanne and Stephen.
Much loved Nan to Mia, Minnie and Emily.
Dearly loved Sister to Margaret and Mary.
Reunited with her Mum, Dad, five Brothers and Sister.

Joan will be greatly missed by all her loving family and friends.

A funeral service for Joan will be held on Wednesday 12th August 2026 in the Rosemary Chapel, Springwood Crematorium, Springwood Avenue, Liverpool, L25 7UN at 11:30am.

Family flowers only please, donations if desired will support the work of the Joseph Lappin Centre in Joan’s memory. A donation box will be available on the day of the funeral.

The family would like you to join them afterwards at St. Margaret Mary Parish Club, Pilch Ln, Liverpool, L14 0JG to continue to celebrate Joan’s life.

Reading the articles about Legacy Funeral Directors in Hull has left me absolutely shocked and disgusted. The thought of loved ones being stored for months and families giving wrong cremated remains is beyond heartbreaking. My heart truly goes out to every family affected by this unimaginable ordeal. 💔

This tragedy highlights why I firmly believe funeral directors should be regulated by law. At the moment, anyone can open a funeral business without any experience or mandatory regulation, and that simply isn't right.

At our funeral home, we voluntarily joined the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD). This means they can carry out unannounced inspections at any time, checking our premises and ensuring we work to their strict Code of Practice. We welcome these inspections because we have nothing to hide.

We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards, treating every person in our care with the dignity and respect they deserve, while also supporting their loved ones through the most difficult times.

What has happened in Hull is an absolute horror story. It is beyond comprehension that anyone could treat the deceased and grieving families in such a cruel and inhumane way. I sincerely hope this leads to proper regulation becoming a legal requirement for every funeral director in the UK. Families deserve nothing less. 😢🕊️

It is with great sadness, that the family of the Late Margaret (Margie) Morris, have asked us to announce her passing and funeral arrangements.

Margie passed away peacefully with all her children by her side, on 20th July 2026, aged 87 years old.

Margie was a much - loved wife of 66 years to her late husband Brian; a caring, kind and generous Mum, Nan, Great Nan and Great- Great Nan who will be very much missed by them all.

Now reunited with Brian forever 💕

A Funeral Service will take place on Friday 7th August 2026 at Greenacres, Rainford Park, Blindfoot Road, St Helens, Merseyside, WA11- 7HX at 2pm.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late John McAdam have asked to announce his passing and funeral arrangements.

John sadly passed away on Thursday 23rd July 2026 at Park View Nursing Home aged 91 years surrounded by his loving family.

A requiem mass will be held at Our Lady of the Annunciation (Bishop Eton), Woolton Rd, Liverpool L16 8NQ on Friday 14th August 2026 at 12:00noon, with a cremation service to follow in the Myrtle Chapel, Springwood Crematorium, Springwood Ave, Allerton, L25 7UN at 1:15pm.
