ADHD is often associated with forgetfulness, distraction and hyperactivity, but many symptoms can be far less obvious.

Difficulties with sleep, sensory sensitivities, perfectionism, emotional eating, chronic fatigue and even clumsiness can all be linked to ADHD. These experiences are frequently misunderstood or attributed to personality traits rather than underlying neurodevelopmental differences.

Understanding the broader presentation of ADHD can help reduce stigma, improve awareness and support earlier identification and intervention.

If you recognise several of these signs in yourself or someone you know, seeking professional advice may be a helpful next step.

🧠 Anxiety is designed to protect us, but sometimes it becomes so loud that it begins to make decisions for us.

It may tell us to avoid risks, seek constant reassurance, overthink every possibility, or wait until we feel completely certain.

While these behaviours can reduce anxiety in the short term, they often keep us feeling stuck in the long run.

Learning to recognise the difference between your own values and anxiety's fears is an important part of psychological wellbeing. The goal is not to get rid of anxiety completely, but to stop letting it decide how you live your life.

You can feel anxious and still choose what matters most to you. πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

🧠 Most people dislike uncertainty, but for some, uncertainty can feel deeply uncomfortable and difficult to tolerate.

Intolerance of uncertainty is a psychological process linked to anxiety, excessive worry, reassurance-seeking, and perfectionism. Research suggests it plays an important role across a range of mental health difficulties, including generalised anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and eating disorders.

When uncertainty feels threatening, people may develop behaviours aimed at creating a sense of control or predictability. While these behaviours can provide temporary relief, they often maintain anxiety in the long term.

Learning to tolerate uncertainty does not mean enjoying itβ€”it means developing confidence that you can cope even when outcomes are unknown. πŸŒ±πŸ’š

πŸ“± "Don't eat carbs." "Avoid sugar." "Never eat after 8pm."

Social media is full of food rules that promise better health, weight loss, or wellbeing. While these messages may seem simple and helpful, nutrition is rarely as straightforward as a single rule.

Research suggests that rigid dietary rules can contribute to food guilt, increased food preoccupation, and, in some cases, disordered eating behaviours. In contrast, a flexible approach to eating is generally associated with more sustainable health outcomes and a healthier relationship with food.

Food is not simply fuel. It also plays an important role in social connection, culture, enjoyment, and overall wellbeing. πŸ’šπŸ½οΈπŸ“±
