When your body isn't doing what it used to, everything can feel harder.

Perhaps you're navigating a diagnosis, recovering from illness, dealing with chronic fatigue, burnout or simply feeling frustrated that your energy levels aren't where you'd like them to be.

You may be pushing through because that's what you've always done. You’re strong, and you’re proud of that.

Or perhaps you've reached the point where you simply can't anymore.

Living with health challenges can impact every area of life - your confidence, relationships, work, motivation and sense of self.

For about 15 years while teaching Yoga (and other classes back then) I would often get throat infections, lose my voice, then get viral rashes and be completely wiped out.

I worked through this for YEARS. Showing up, teaching the classes, not letting anyone down.
Back to the doctors because I was ill AGAIN, and constantly being told I was in perfect health.

It took me a long time to realise it was my strength that was actually holding me back.

Eventually, my digestive system took a hit (many people have heard my poo stories) and the knock on effect of that was my mental health suffered and anxiety was through the roof.

It took a while, but I slowly reduced my Yoga classes and 3 years on I'm in the best health I've been in for years.

Maybe it’s the health of a loved one causing you difficulty. Maybe they need more care, or the path ahead suddenly looks completely different. The things that were once possible become the impossible over night.

Never underestimate the impact this is having on yourself.

It can feel difficult it can be when your mind wants one thing and your body is asking for another.

And sometimes the hardest thing is accepting that listening to your body isn't giving in.

It might mean doing things differently. Asking for help. Letting something go. Finding new ways to look after yourself. Or working out who you are when your life, body or circumstances have changed the rules on you.

Health, energy and the impact they have on the rest of your life are things we can explore through my 1:1 coaching. I'm not here to diagnose you or tell you what your body needs. I'm here to support YOU while you navigate what all of this means for your life.

Whether it's your own health or you're supporting somebody you love, you deserve somewhere that your needs get to be part of the conversation too.

If your body is asking you to live differently and you're struggling to work out what that looks like, drop me a message.

🍂 Autumn Equinox | Restorative Reset 🍂
Rest • Rebalance • Realign

Join me at The Yoga Hut for a deeply nourishing seasonal reset

The sessiin will include my signature Stillness in Sound, Restorative Yoga and time to pause, reflect and reconnect with yourself.

As we reach the end of Summer there can be a mixture of emotions.
Gratitude for the adventures we've had, lessons we've learned and memories we've made.

I always feel a touch of nostalgia as we say goodbye to longer days and lighter evenings.

Maybe this Summer brought challenges. This is a chance to acknowledge those too.

Whether Summer has been full of joy, challenge, growth or change, this is an opportunity to pause and honour it all.

The Autumn Equinox offers a natural pause point.
A chance to reflect on what this season has brought you and consider what will support you as you move into the cooler, quieter months ahead.

With cosy underfloor heating, blankets, bolsters and everything provided, you'll be able to switch off for 90 minutes and truly tune in to yourself.

With just 5 spaces available, this session is ideal if you enjoy smaller groups and a more personal experience.

The Yoga Hut, Redmere, nr Prickwillow/Littleport.

Tuesday 22nd September | 2–3:30pm | £35pp

Families can be complicated.

Every family has its own roles, expectations and ways of doing things.

Perhaps you're the one who keeps everything ticking along. The peacemaker. The person who checks everyone is okay, smooths things over and tries not to rock the boat.

Over time, that can become so automatic that you barely notice you're doing it.

You find yourself saying yes when you'd rather say no. Holding your tongue when something upsets you. Making decisions based on how everyone else will feel rather than what feels right for you.

Sometimes you can feel resentment then feel so guilty for it.

Family dynamics can pull us back into old versions of ourselves, even when we've grown far beyond them.

As the youngest in my family I've often felt like the one who went against the grain. I've never followed the traditional path, never had the 9 to 5, and there have been plenty of moments where I've felt the need to justify the choices I've made.

"Why would you want to do that?"

"Wouldn’t it be easier just to get a proper job?"

Sound familiar?!

There are still times, as a woman in her forties I can find myself feeling like a child again. Not because I am one, but because family relationships can have a way of keeping us connected to old stories about who we are.

Sometimes the hardest part isn't becoming who you are. It's continuing to be that person when the people around you haven't quite caught up with the newer version of you.

I've worked with people who haven't spoken to family members for years and carry guilt about it every day. I've worked with people who see family regularly yet still feel unseen, misunderstood or unable to truly be themselves. And I've worked with many people who spend so much time worrying about keeping everyone else happy that they place themselves at the bottom of the pile.

At some point, we have to ask ourselves whether constantly keeping everyone else comfortable is coming at the expense of our own wellbeing, happiness and peace of mind.

Because your needs matter too.

PS: If any of this feels familiar, family dynamics, boundaries and finding your place within the relationships around you are all things we can explore through my 1:1 coaching.

Sometimes you don't need someone to tell you what you should do about your family. You need a space where you can say what you really think, work out what you actually want and start making choices that take your wellbeing into account too.

If you feel like you've spent a long time keeping everybody else happy and you're ready to make a little more room for yourself, message me. We can have a chat about what support could look like.

Yoga isn't just about getting bendy.

Today's online class was aaaaall in the hips (as Happy Gilmore once said ⛳️ Google it 😆)

Did you know one of the nerves that makes up your parasympathetic nervous system (your rest and digest response) is the pelvic nerve?

When we're stressed, overwhelmed or constantly in go-go-go mode, our bodies often hold onto that tension. For many people, the hips can become one of those places.

That's why Yoga is so much more than stretching and strengthening.

It's another way of supporting your nervous system, helping your body feel safe, release tension and come back into balance ☯️

Sometimes regulation doesn't look like meditation or breathwork.

Sometimes it looks like getting on your mat and moving your body.

✨ Your hips might just thank you for it.

Grief doesn't follow a timeline. It doesn't care how strong you are, how much support you have around you or how long it's been.

There's no point where someone hands you a certificate and says "well done, you've completed your grieving now."

Whether your loss happened six weeks ago, six years ago or sixteen years ago, there can still be days when it catches you off guard. A smell. A song. A birthday. A random Tuesday afternoon.

And suddenly they're there. Or rather, the space where they should be is.

It can be a lonely place.

I remember when my Mum died I felt that nobody around me understood it. None of my friends had lost a parent and sometimes it became the elephant in the room.

Nobody dare say the word ‘Mum’ in front of me. Nobody talked about her. Some people crossed the street if they saw me. People seem to have endless compassion in the early days. But years later? You mention it’s now 11 years and you’re met with a look that says ‘oh well that’s ok then.’

As though grief has an expiry date.

What I find so hard to fathom is that you experience this massive life event - I sat by my Mum’s side as she took her last breath, at home, then nobody ever mentions it again. I have only ever once sat and told a friend about that and they were so awkward and upset I thought I must never ever mention it again.

Losing a parent seems to turn you into a completely different person. You don’t mean it to, it kind of just happens, and the person you were before is gone too. You’re left finding your place in a world that keeps moving whilst yours has changed forever.

Because life does go on.

I remember the week after my Mum died, I was in town, everyone going about their business and I just wanted to shout "I’ve just watched my Mum die!!"

11 years on now, I would do things differently. I would find someone to speak to who is impartial and who understands.

I was so adamant I didn’t need a counsellor because I was fine, I was coping, my Mum brought me up to be strong. I thought only people who can’t cope had counselling/coaching/therapy.

What you may need is a safe space to process, reflect and gently find your footing again.

Grief stays with us forever. The days in between get easier and there are more of them as time goes on.

Some days it’s easier than others. That doesn't mean the loss meant any less. It simply means life has grown around it.

PS: If you resonate with this, you're really not alone.
If there's one good thing to come from something so sad, it's that I am able to bring what I've lived and learned into my coaching and BE the person for someone else that I needed at the time.

💜 Someone you can talk to without worrying that you're making them uncomfortable.
💜 Someone who won't change the subject, try to make it better or wonder why you're still feeling it after all this time.
💜 A safe, supportive space to process what you're carrying and gently work out what moving forward looks like for you.

Grief and bereavement are part of the work I support people with through my 1:1 coaching.

If you feel like you could do with that space, message me.
You don't need to know exactly what you need or what you want to say. You can just start with “Hi”.

Join me at The Yoga Hut, my little sanctuary tucked away in the Fens, for an extended session to welcome the Autumn Equinox.

Following the flow of Mother Nature, we'll take time to honour all that summer has given us and begin the gentle transition into a slower, more nurturing season.

As the days grow shorter and nature starts to turn inward, this is an invitation to do the same.
To pause, reflect and reconnect with yourself.

The session will include gentle movement, restorative practices to soothe the nervous system, and of course, the most dreamy Stillness in Sound session to leave you feeling deeply rested and restored.

“We thought we had to be all bendy and stretchy... Isn't that what Yoga Nidra is?!

And when you said Singing Bowls, we brought microphones...”

Oh Tom, Gary and Danny.

What ARE you like? 😂

No stretching and no singing are required.

Just... lying down.

💜 Conscious rest. 💜 Nervous system regulation. 💜 Stress-melting stillness. 💜 Soothing sounds from the Singing Bowls.

When I told the lads they could get comfy, close their eyes and let me do the talking.....

They were FLAT. OUT. Ready.

(Tom Cruise hasn't moved in two hours. Gary's snoring. Danny appears to have drifted into another dimension.)

If your brain's buzzing, your body's done, and "relax" sounds like a threat, this is for you.

My private Restorative Reset sessions combine Yoga Nidra and the soothing sounds of my traditional Singing Bowls to help you slow down, switch off and give your nervous system a little TLC.

Available as a private session at The Yoga Hut, either just for you or shared with friends.

Fancy a lie down with me? 💜

Drop me a message to find out more.
