I’ve been questioning myself a bit lately.

Am I good enough?
Am I doing enough?
Am I where I should be by now?

And then there’s the comparing… 🙄

I know I shouldn’t do it, but sometimes I do it anyway..

So I’ve been reminding myself that I’m seeing a tiny snapshot of someone else’s life, while comparing it to everything I know about my own.

That’s never going to be a fair comparison.

I don’t have to be further ahead.
I don’t have to have everything figured out.

And I can be proud of how far I’ve come while still wanting more.

Because sometimes we’re so busy looking at everyone else that we forget to notice ourselves.

And I’m probably doing a lot better than I think I am. ❤️😊

Has anyone else noticed how quickly comparison can knock your self-worth?

Love Steph 😊✨️

A little reminder for anyone who needs it today…

You don’t have to react to every thought that pops into your head and just because you think something, it doesn’t mean it’s true.

“I’m going to mess this up.”

“They probably think I’m useless.”

“What if something goes wrong?”

Our brains are incredibly good at producing unhelpful thoughts, predictions and stories, particularly when we’re stressed, anxious or lacking confidence.

But a thought is just a thought. You don’t have to believe it and you don’t have to let it decide what you do next.

Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is simply notice it and ask yourself 'is this fact or fiction?'

Because not every thought is true, you can challenge it, question it …and then choose what you want to do anyway.

And perhaps the most powerful thing of all? Learning to be your own biggest cheerleader. ❤️

I really hope you found this helpful today, but if you feel you need some extra support in mind-set management, feel free get in touch 😊✨

My daughter went to her first festival this weekend… and if I’m honest, I was rather nervous about it. 😬

Not because I didn’t trust her, but because I’m a parent of a teenager! 🫣

When we purchased her ticket, I was so excited for her to have the experience. However, the closer we got to it, the more I started to worry about the 'what ifs!' and realising I couldn't be there to keep an eye on her.

My brain, of course, was more than happy to come up with a whole list of things that could go wrong. 😂

But this is where I had to take a leaf out of my own book!
I reminded myself that worrying doesn’t actually keep her safe.
It just keeps me nervous.

So rather than trying to stop the thoughts completely, I acknowledged them, took a breath and brought myself back to what I actually know. (The Facts!)

She’s sensible.
She’s prepared.
She knows what to do if she needs help.
She’s with people she trusts.
And most importantly… she deserves the chance to have these experiences.

I also remind myself that feeling worried doesn’t mean something bad is going to happen, it just means I care.

And actually, letting our children grow, explore and become independent means we have to get comfortable with being a little uncomfortable ourselves.

She had an amazing time, she's home safe and sound and I survived too! 😂❤️

For all the parents out there - I’d love to know, what’s the thing your child has done that made you think, “Oh God, I’m not sure I'm ready for this!”?

I absolutely loved working with this lovely lady. In such a short space of time, watching her go from anxious and overwhelmed to feeling more confident was genuinely uplifting for me too. ✨

Something we talked about regarding how the brain works really resonated with her, so much so that she bought us matching chimp teddy's as a reminder and parting gift! 🐒😂

Helping people understand their brains, feel more in control and realise that change is possible is exactly why I love what I do 💚

And yes… the chimp still sits proudly in my office! 🐒

One of the things I love about hypnotherapy is that you don’t always need to know exactly why you’re struggling before you can start making changes.

Sometimes you just know that something isn’t quite right.

You’re overthinking everything.
You’re stuck in the same patterns.
You’re lacking confidence.
You’re putting things off.
You’re worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet.
Or perhaps you simply don’t feel quite like yourself.

And that’s where I think hypnotherapy can be really helpful.

It gives you the opportunity to slow things down, step out of the constant noise for a while, and start looking at the thoughts, habits and patterns that might be keeping you stuck.

There's no swinging watches or mind control...
It’s all about working together to help you understand yourself a little better and make positive changes that feel realistic and achievable for you.

And perhaps one of the biggest benefits? Just feeling a little more confident, calmer, clearer and in control.

That’s the bit I love most about the work I do, seeing someone start to realise that change really is possible.

Sometimes you just need a little help getting started. ❤

If you would like to book a consultation to find out how Hypnotherapy can help you, I would love to hear from you.

Does anyone else feel like there’s a constant pressure to be doing something?

Achieving something, improving something, planning the next thing, building, being productive.

And sometimes I think we forget that it’s okay to just… exist.

To have a quiet weekend, to leave the chores, to take a break, to spend a day doing absolutely nothing useful, to not have the next five years mapped out.

I’m trying to get better at that.

Because life isn't just the big achievements and exciting milestones, a lot of it is the ordinary stuff in between.

And maybe we should appreciate that a little more.

Love, Steph 😊✨

A little reminder that you don't have to be “doing amazing” all the time.

You can be grateful for your life and still have days where you feel completely fed up.

You can love your job and still need a break from it.

You can be excited about the future and still miss parts of the past.

You can have people you love around you and still feel lonely sometimes.

You can be making progress and still feel like you’re standing still.

I think we’re often too quick to put ourselves into one box, happy, sad, struggling, motivated, lost.

When actually, most of us are probably a bit of everything all at once.

So if you’re having one of those weeks where you don’t quite know how you feel or what you’re doing…

Same!

And maybe that’s okay. ❤️

Four years ago, I lost my dad..

I’ve learned that grief doesn’t always show up straight away and it doesn't disappear with time. Some days it catches you completely off guard, while other days you can think about the person you’ve lost and smile.

Four years on, I find myself choosing to hold onto the happy memories, the laughter, the little moments, the stories, and all the things that made him who he was. ❤️

I’m so grateful that alongside the sadness, I have a lifetime of beautiful memories to look back on and to share with my children.

I like to think that remembering him with a smile is one of the ways I keep his memory alive. 😊

Cheers to you today Dad. 🥂❤️

Grief doesn't always come from losing someone...

We often think of grief as something we experience after a death, but grief can take many different forms.

We can grieve people who are still very much alive. We can grieve a friendship, a relationship, a version of our family, a life we thought we'd have, or even a chapter of our own lives.

Sometimes things change and we're left missing what once was. So what do we do with that?

Perhaps the first step is allowing ourselves to acknowledge that it hurts, rather than trying to push the pain away.

We don't necessarily have to find someone to blame, decide who was right or wrong, or convince ourselves that we shouldn't miss them. We can simply recognise that something really mattered to us and that losing or changing that connection is painful.

And perhaps we don't need to rush to “move on” either.

We can allow ourselves to carry the memories, the love and everything that relationship or chapter meant to us, while slowly making space for what comes next.

And that doesn't mean forgetting someone or pretending it wasn't important. It simply means accepting that something has changed, whilst allowing ourselves to keep moving forward too.

Grief is a complex process, some losses take much longer to make peace with than others. Not every emotion can be squashed, solved or understood straight away. So be gentle with yourself, take your time, and remember that it's okay not to have everything figured out.

I hope you found this helpful today...

Every person who comes to see me brings their own experiences, challenges and hopes with them, and it’s a real privilege to be able to support them.

This testimonial particularly touched me because creating a space where someone feels safe, supported and genuinely listened to is at the heart of what I do.

And being able to watch someone grow in confidence, make changes and recognise their own strengths along the way is something I never take for granted.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has trusted me enough to let me be part of their journey. ❤

If you would like some extra help or support, I would love to hear from you too.
