31°C in Rotterdam today ☀️🌿

After wandering through the city, I discovered this beautiful floral tea blend from Wilder Land Farm. A delicate combination of lime blossom, elderflower, chamomile, caraway and rose leaf.

Whether it’s the calming herbs, the fragrant flowers, or simply taking a mindful tea break, it brought an instant lift in energy and a wonderful sense of calm, just what I needed before exploring the incredible Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen museum.

Sometimes wellness is found in the simplest moments: slowing down, appreciating nature, and enjoying a cup of thoughtfully crafted herbal tea.

⚽👅 World Cup Tongue Check!

When the cameras zoom in on a celebration, we can’t help but notice… the tongue! 😄

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the tongue is often considered a reflection of what’s happening inside the body. While you can never diagnose someone from a TV screenshot, it’s always fun to observe what practitioners look for.

From this image, we might notice:
👅 A slightly pale tongue body
👅 A light coating
👅 A touch of redness towards the tip

In TCM, these features may be associated with energy levels, digestion, hydration, stress or recovery—but a proper assessment always considers the whole person, not just the tongue.

It’s a reminder that peak performance isn’t just about training. Sleep, nutrition, digestion, stress management and recovery all play a huge role in helping your body perform at its best.

A lovely surprise in clinic today!

This client initially came to see us for sciatica and lower back pain. After a few treatments, she noticed her pain had improved significantly and, as an added bonus, her digestion was also much better.

At today’s appointment, she shared some wonderful news , she’s pregnant! 🎉

While supporting conception wasn’t the original reason she sought treatment, it’s not uncommon for people to notice positive changes in other aspects of their health as their body becomes more balanced and resilient. Improved digestion, better sleep, reduced pain and lower stress levels can all contribute to overall wellbeing.

We are absolutely delighted for her and wish her all the very best on this exciting new chapter. 🩵

✨ Baby turned on Day 10! ✨

We are delighted to share a lovely success story.
A client came to see us with a breech presentation and began a gentle session of moxibustion treatment after a full assessment with our lovely Helena to ensure it was suitable for her.

10 days later, Mum got in touch with the wonderful news that her baby had turned into a head-down position, ready for delivery.

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves gently warming specific acupuncture points using mugwort. It has been used for many years to support women with breech presentation when appropriate.
Every pregnancy is unique, and results cannot be guaranteed, but moxibustion can be a valuable option when assessed and guided by a qualified acupuncturist.
If your baby is breech and you would like to explore your options, we would be glad to help!

On Monday, students sitting their GCSE and A-level exams begin what can be a challenging and stressful examination period.

Over the weekend in clinic, we supported a hard working A-level student who had developed significant neck, shoulder, and wrist pain from long hours of revision.

Holistic massage can be a wonderful treatment to help release tension, reduce pain, and ease the physical effects of stress on the body.

If your child is taking exams and feeling the pressure, whether it’s affecting their digestion, sleep, or, for girls, causing hormonal imbalances, please do come and see us for support.
