Our residents at Rowan Park recently enjoyed a wonderful Vintage Coffee Morning with friends and family, all in support of Dementia UK.

The event brought everyone together to enjoy homemade bakes, delicious cakes, tea, and coffee in a beautifully decorated vintage-themed setting. Residents, loved ones, and team members socialised whilst supporting an important cause.

Events like these provide many benefits:
πŸ’™ Raising funds and awareness for Dementia UK and the valuable support they provide to families affected by dementia.
πŸ’™ Encouraging social connection and reducing isolation.
πŸ’™ Creating meaningful opportunities for residents to spend quality time with family and friends.
πŸ’™ Promoting wellbeing through community involvement, conversation, and shared experiences.
πŸ’™ Celebrating teamwork and the talents of our residents, families, and staff who helped make the day so special.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, baked, and helped decorate the venue. Your kindness and support made the event a great success.

We loved seeing so many smiling faces enjoying the vintage atmosphere, delicious treats, and wonderful company. πŸ–€πŸ’›

Today at Rowan Park Care Home, we were delighted to welcome our furry friends from Twinnies Petting Farm. Rabbits, lambs, and even a miniature pony spent time with our residents and staff, bringing smiles and plenty of cuddles throughout the day.

Animal therapy visits offer so many wonderful benefits for people living in care homes. Spending time with animals can help reduce stress and anxiety, encourage conversation and social interaction, and bring back happy memories of pets and farm life from years gone by. The calming presence of animals can also lift mood, provide comfort, and create a real sense of connection and joy.

Our residents absolutely loved meeting and stroking the animals, with many enjoying the opportunity to cuddle, and chat about their own experiences with pets over the years. The miniature pony was a particular favourite and certainly stole the show! It was heartwarming to see so much engagement, laughter, and happiness shared by everyone involved.

A huge thank you to the team at Twinnies for bringing such a special experience to our home β€” it truly brightened everyone’s day. πŸ–€πŸ’›

This year’s International Nurses Day theme, β€œOur Nurses, Our Future,” is a beautiful reminder that nursing is not just a profession β€” it is compassion, sacrifice, strength, and heart.

Today, we celebrated not only the nurses of today, but also the future of nursing. We brought together experience, passion, kindness, and dedication β€” people connected by the same purpose: caring for others during some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of their lives.

Behind every medication given, every comforting word, every hand held, and every late shift, there is a nurse giving a part of themselves to make someone else feel safe, respected, and cared for.

Our nursing team and senior team work side by side every single day to create not just a workplace, but a family β€” a strong, compassionate, and caring environment for our residents and for each other.

Today was also made extra special by the love and hugs sent from our residents, reminding us why we do what we do and how much these small acts of care truly mean.

To our amazing team β€” thank you for your strength, your patience, your kindness, and your endless dedication.

We are stronger together.πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—
We care together.πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ–€
And together, we are the future.πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰
