‼️ PLEASE share this for a friend of mine doing some research 🧐

Hi everyone! πŸ‘‹
I am a local special needs teacher with 22 years of experience and I am exploring the idea of setting up a sensory hire and sessions service in Monmouthshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire β€” and I would love your honest thoughts before I go any further.

Here is what I am thinking of offering:

🎁 Sensory box hire β€” curated boxes of sensory tools to hire by the week or month
πŸͺ£ Attention Autism bucket hire β€” themed prop buckets to use at home or in your setting
🌈 Tuff spot activity hire β€” ready-made sensory tray setups
πŸ“– Sensory story bags β€” multi-sensory stories with props for every page
✨ Attention Autism and sensory play sessions β€” professionally run group sessions

I know how hard it can be to find the right resources and support β€” and how expensive it gets. I want to make sure whatever I create actually helps people locally.

I have put together a short 3-minute survey and would be so grateful if you could fill it in β€” every response really helps! πŸ™

When words aren’t enough πŸ”‡

Communication does not look the same for everyone. Some neurodivergent people may need written information, extra time to think, or different ways to share their views.

Improving accessible communication helps strengthen shared decision-making and improves experiences of care.

What you can do:
β€’ Check understanding
β€’ Offer information in different formats
β€’ Allow extra time
β€’ Listen without interrupting

Better communication leads to better experiences.

As children move into the Tween years (9–12), their understanding of death becomes much deeper.

They begin to understand that death is permanent and affects everyone.
They may start thinking about bigger questions β€” about life, loss, and what it all means.

But with this deeper understanding can come more complex emotions, quieter worries, and thoughts they don’t always share out loud.

For parents, this stage can feel harder to read.

In this post from The Grief Series, we’re exploring how Tweens understand death β€” and how to support them when their thoughts and feelings become more complex.
