What actually happens during an ADHD assessment?

An ADHD diagnosis isn’t based on one questionnaire or a single symptom.

At Ashley House Wellbeing, we look at the whole picture — your current experiences, developmental and childhood history, the impact symptoms have across different areas of life, and the supporting information available.

Our diagnostic assessment includes a structured DIVA-5 for adults (16+) or Young DIVA-5 for children and young people, considered alongside DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and clinical judgement.

The aim isn’t to “find ADHD”. It’s to undertake a thorough assessment and determine whether the evidence supports an ADHD diagnosis.

If you’ve been wondering whether ADHD could explain your experiences—or you’re seeking answers for your child—you don’t have to navigate the process alone.

At Ashley House Wellbeing, we provide comprehensive, evidence-based ADHD assessments for adults (16+) and children & young people.

Every journey begins with a £49 Clinical Triage Appointment, where we’ll:

It’s something I hear time and time again.

Many people spend years believing they are simply forgetful, disorganised, lazy or “not trying hard enough.” Others have always felt different but never understood why.

The reality is that ADHD presents differently in every individual. For some, it’s difficulty concentrating. For others, it’s impulsivity, emotional regulation, restlessness or feeling constantly overwhelmed by everyday life.

Having these experiences doesn’t automatically mean you have ADHD. However, if these difficulties have been present since childhood and continue to affect your education, work, relationships or daily life, it may be worth seeking a professional assessment.

At Ashley House Wellbeing, I provide evidence-based ADHD assessments for adults (16+) and children & young people.

As a Registered Children’s Nurse (NMC) and Advanced ADHD Practitioner, every assessment follows a structured diagnostic process using the DIVA-5 (Adults) or Young DIVA-5 (Children) alongside a comprehensive review of developmental history, supporting evidence and the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.

Ashley House Wellbeing specialises in ADHD assessment and diagnosis. We do not prescribe ADHD medication or provide medication titration. However, if you receive a diagnosis and wish to explore treatment, we’ll explain the available options, including NHS Right to Choose and private prescribing pathways. Please note that any prescribing service will complete its own assessment in accordance with its clinical policies before medication is considered.

🧠 ADHD Assessments – Bookings Now Open

After months of planning, training and development, I’m delighted to announce that Ashley House Wellbeing is now accepting bookings for private ADHD assessments for both adults (16+) and children & young people across the UK.

As a Registered Children’s Nurse (NMC) and Advanced ADHD Practitioner, my aim is to provide compassionate, evidence-based assessments that give individuals and families clarity, understanding and confidence.

How the process works

✔️ Step 1 – Book your £49 Clinical Triage Appointment

Following your booking, I (or a member of the Ashley House team) will contact you personally to begin your onboarding. During this call we’ll explain the assessment pathway, discuss your concerns and advise what supporting information is required.

✔️ Step 2 – Complete your onboarding

You’ll be sent the relevant questionnaires and supporting documentation appropriate for your assessment, along with guidance on the evidence we’ll need before progressing to a diagnostic assessment.

✔️ Step 3 – Clinical Review

Once your forms and supporting evidence have been returned, they’ll be reviewed to ensure there is sufficient information to proceed.

✔️ Step 4 – ADHD Assessment

If appropriate, your diagnostic assessment will be booked.

Assessment Fees

Adults (16+) – £499.99

Children & Young People – £549.99

The £49 Clinical Triage Fee is non-refundable, however if your triage is successful and the required assessment criteria are met, the full £49 will be deducted from your assessment fee.

This staged approach ensures every assessment is completed with the appropriate background information, helping us provide a thorough and evidence-based diagnostic process.
