Stimming tells us something important - and as specialists in autism and ADHD, we see it every day in the children and adults we work with.

It's not "naughty" or "attention-seeking." It's regulation. Communication. Comfort. A way the body finds safety when the world feels too loud, too bright, or too much.

We don't ask families to stop stimming. We ask them to get curious about it.

Notice what it's telling you.
Understand what it's doing for them.
Support it, rather than suppress it.

Every stim is valid, and every stim has a purpose. Understanding that purpose is one of the most powerful things we can offer the families we work with - support doesn't stop at diagnosis.

Swipe through for a simple guide to the different types of stimming 💟 Save this for later, and follow for more neurodiversity affirming guidance from our team.

When a child is struggling with reading, writing or learning, it's natural to wonder if it's dyslexia.

But sometimes the picture is more complex.

Difficulties at school can be linked to dyslexia, but they can also be influenced by attention, memory, language processing, cognitive differences or other neurodevelopmental needs.

That's why getting the right assessment matters.

Our team offers dyslexia assessments, cognitive assessments and learning assessments to help build a clearer picture of your child's strengths, challenges and the support they may need.

If you're concerned about your child's learning, don't spend months wondering. Get in touch with our friendly clinical team to discuss the most appropriate assessment for your child.

If your child finds the school holidays overwhelming, you're not alone.

For many autistic and ADHD children, it's not the break from school that's difficult, it's the constant change. Different routines, unfamiliar places, last minute plans and switching between activities can all take a lot of mental energy.

A few things you could try:
▪Keep a few parts of the day predictable. It doesn't have to be a strict routine, but having regular "anchor points" like breakfast, a favourite activity or bedtime can help children feel more settled.

▪ If you're going somewhere new, show them photos beforehand. Seeing where they're going, what it looks like and what to expect can reduce uncertainty.

▪ Pack a small regulation bag with familiar items like headphones, a favourite snack, sunglasses or a comfort item. Having these to hand can make outings much more manageable.

▪Remember that transitions take time. If your child struggles to leave the house or move from one activity to another, they may need more time to process the change rather than more encouragement to "hurry up".

Every child is different, so what works for one family may not work for another. The key is understanding what helps your child feel safe, prepared and regulated.

Every family's journey is different, and so is the support they need.

Some children benefit from Speech and Language Therapy. Others may need Occupational Therapy, psychological support, cognitive assessments or guidance with an EHCP. Sometimes it's a combination of all of these.

That's why we've built a team of experienced clinicians who work together to help children, adults & families get the support that's right for them.

Because no one professional has all the answers, but together, we can make a real difference.

"It takes a village. We're proud to be part of yours".
