Further to our post of 16/06/2026, the industrial action at the lab continues. We are able to have some samples tested but less urgent tests are being postponed. The impact on patients is not recognised and we hope to see restoration to normal service soon. πŸ’™ We're supporting Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service this World Drowning Prevention Day by sharing a simple message that could save a life.

If you get into difficulty in the water, remember Float to Live:

πŸ’§ Tilt your head back with your ears submerged.

πŸ’§ Relax and try to breathe normally.

πŸ’§ Float on your back with your arms and legs spread out.

πŸ’§ Move your arms to help you stay afloat.

πŸ’§ Once you're calm, call for help or swim to safety.

If you see someone in difficulty, call 999 and ask for the fire and rescue service if they're in a river, canal or reservoir.
