There’s a part of what I do now that you usually don’t see 👀

You know me and Eyestyle Studio for the styling; sessions that start with your face, your life, who you actually are, and find the frames that belong to you. Never squeezing you into whatever frames happen to be in stock if they’re not the right ones.

What you might not know is WHY I built it that way, and what I’m doing about it now on a much bigger scale.

The frames worth falling for, the design-led, characterful, made-with-intent ones, all too often struggle to reach the independent practices doing eyewear properly. The way our industry buys frames is stick, and often keeps the best brands out of the very places that would love them.

So I’ve started changing it, from the other side, the brand side. And for the next 3 months I’m running a live experiment to see if there’s a better way for great brands to reach the practices that that would love them. I’ll be sharing this experiment as it unfolds and you’ll be seeing some of what I’m doing on this account.

For you dear client or watcher it means what it always has - I’ll only ever get behind eyewear I’d put in front of you myself. This brand is one you’ll be familiar with because I’ve championed it with you since 2020. So if you see things you like over the coming weeks you will have a chance to try them on at an event in September if you wish.

In the meantime, follow along. The frames worth wearing deserve a better route to you, and I intend to build it.

Plot twist 🌪️ I’m torn between two ways to do this.

(I sent an email last week about a possible Feb31st event in September/October this year. If you’re a subscriber and you missed it check your inbox for all the deets 📥 )

UK or Bergamo, Italy — where I take a small group straight to the FEB31st factory to see how they’re made, get inspiration and then design your own.

Lots of you said yes to a UK event. Fewer said yes to Italy, and I want to know why before I decide. Is it the flight? The midweek dates? Just too much faff?

Reply and tell me:

1. UK or Italy?
2. If not Italy — what’s the actual blocker?

No wrong answer, I just want to build the right one.
And hopefully go to Italy 🇮🇹 obviously for work reasons 🙄😜🥂

I’ve got a question for you.

Some of you already know FEB31st — 13 layers of sustainably sourced Italian wood, unlimited combinations of shape, colour and texture, wood and metal options, engravable. Completely bespoke, completely yours, made to order in around 6 weeks.

I didn’t include them at the March event because bespoke needs proper time. A quick browse doesn’t cut it when you’re designing something from scratch.

So I’m considering running a separate 1-day event later this year; late September or October, dedicated purely to bespoke FEB31st consultations. Longer sessions, no rush, just you and me building your design layer by layer.

I’ve had requests but before I commit to anything, I want to know: is this something you’d actually book?

🔥 Yes — I’d book a session
💬 Interested but I’ve got questions
👋 Not for me but love the idea

Ah the beautiful Sally ❤️ Her third pair, this is a new shape experiment so adds a touch of something different to her collection. As I reflect on the recent pop-up event I’m just overwhelmed that so many visited and that I get to enjoy all their smiles and laughter again.

Back in 2027 I think 😜.

Beth’s latest. Wow she has a great collection 😜 (not kidding) but this addition brings a different shape profile and a brightness. As a a client with a high prescription we’re often mindful of frame size and shape, so with this one we’ve gone for a - Myopsee. Sounds complex but essentially it’s a thinner flatter lens with reduced power rings so they look fab and feel light!

This beautiful woman lights up my day! Lindsey has the most amazing collection already, but a square in Havana and deep red had to be added 😉

Had a fabulous time with clients at this morning. Just a handful more to go next week!

I’ve missed seeing Emma and her gang so it was a treat to see her (however briefly) at the recent eyewear event. She has the most amazing collection of glasses and only came for a look 👀 but these won her over. Striking and lightweight at the same time from ❤️

Spent a little time with clients collecting their glasses yesterday. Steve went for something a little bolder this time (think he’s catching the glasses bug 👓). This fab number from has all the hallmarks of a solid frame but let’s light through in the right places.

There were a good number of frames at the recent event that caught his eye, but this one won 🏆

Phil went for light weight in his second pair - ready for summer ☀️ . His first, a bold and punchy acetate ticked the work boxes but a lighter alternative option was required to add to the eyewear wardrobe. has ticked all the boxes too for his bold, light weight and sun pairs.

We were chatting about his first bolder pair and how much he loves those, particularly on his work headshots 📸 For me, a bolder pair can add weight, confidence and gravitas at work, especially when you’re in a leadership position. They’re never just glasses, they’re also a tool for being seen in the way you want to be seen 👀

Lynne visited Eyestyle Studio for the first time at our recent event - the brief was ‘something bolder than I’m currently wearing but still wearable every day’. This blue and silver frame from for the brief, has a chunky look but still lightweight for everyday comfort.
The first pair is always special, but what I love the most is imagining where we go from here… 😜
