🌿 A little check in from me…

Social media has been a little quieter than usual lately.

The truth is, behind the scenes at The Essex Therapy Hub, we’ve been incredibly busy supporting clients, welcoming new referrals, developing our new website and continuing to grow our wonderful team.

Sometimes when you’re focused on supporting others, it’s easy to neglect the social media side of things!

What hasn’t changed is our commitment to creating a warm, safe and affordable space where people can access the support they need.

Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning, attended a workshop, referred someone to us, shared one of our posts or simply followed our journey; thank you.

Three years ago The Essex Therapy Hub was just an idea.

Today it’s a growing community of counsellors, students, professionals and clients all working towards better mental health across Essex.

We’re excited about what’s ahead and look forward to sharing more with you over the coming weeks.

💚

Sorry we’ve been so quite recently!

But……..

We’re so proud to finally share our new website 🌿

The Essex Therapy Hub was created to be a warm, safe and supportive space both in person and online.

Alongside information about our counselling services, we’ll also be sharing regular blogs, resources and downloads around emotional wellbeing.

Our newest blog explores the emotional impact menopause can have on women and mental wellbeing.

This is something I’ve been dealing with personally, so seemed only fitting to share my own experience.

A little moment of sunshine and self-care in between sessions today ☀️

It’s been a busy one at The Essex Therapy Hub today back-to-back and I’ve had the privilege of welcoming 4 new clients today.

Days like this remind me how important it is to pause, even briefly, take a breath, and soak up a little sunshine where we can 🌿

If you’ve been thinking about reaching out for support, you’re not alone — and we’re here when you’re ready 🤍

Many people spend weeks or even months wondering whether therapy is “right” for them — often putting it off because life is busy, or because it doesn’t feel urgent enough.

But you don’t need to be in crisis to come to counselling.

You might just feel:
• overwhelmed
• stuck in patterns
• anxious or low
• or simply ready to understand yourself a little better

At The Essex Therapy Hub, we offer a calm, confidential space where you can talk at your own pace, without pressure or judgement.

We currently have availability for both face-to-face sessions in Rayleigh and online appointments.

If you’re curious, unsure, or ready to take that first step, you’re very welcome to get in touch.

Monday mornings can feel like a reset, but not always in a calm or motivating way.

For many people, it brings a mix of thoughts…
what needs doing, what didn’t get done, and the quiet pressure to start the week “well.”

If you’re feeling slow, distracted, or not quite yourself today, that doesn’t mean anything is wrong. It may just mean your mind and body are still catching up.

In counselling, we often begin by meeting ourselves where we actually are — not where we think we should be.

You don’t have to rush into the week. You’re allowed to ease into it.

There’s something about spring that many of us can feel… even if we can’t quite explain it. 🌱

The lighter mornings, the sound of birds again, the first signs of blossom on the trees — it can bring a gentle reminder that change is possible, even after long, heavy seasons.

For some people, this time of year brings a sense of renewed energy.
For others, things may still feel difficult, and that’s okay too.

Emotions don’t follow the seasons perfectly, and healing rarely happens overnight.

But just like the small buds appearing on the trees, growth often begins quietly and gradually.

If life has felt overwhelming, therapy can offer a calm, supportive space to talk things through, reflect, and move forward in your own time.

As we move into this new season, we’re wishing our clients and community moments of warmth, hope, and gentle new beginnings. 🌷

If this season feels like the right time to seek support, you’re always welcome to reach out.

By Friday, many people are carrying more than they realised.

The work.
The parenting.
The mental load.
The quiet self-criticism.

If this week has felt heavy, you don’t need to earn your rest.

Counselling often helps people notice how rarely they allow themselves to stop without guilt.

This weekend doesn’t have to be productive. It doesn’t have to fix anything.

It can simply be space.

And if you’re finding it hard to switch off, support is here when you’re ready.

Midweek can be when guilt gets louder.

Not doing enough at work.
Not being present enough at home.
Not responding quickly enough.

Guilt often shows up when we care deeply, not necessarily when we’ve done something wrong.

In counselling, we often explore where guilt is coming from. Is it a true signal? Or is it a sign that your expectations are higher than your current capacity?

Capacity changes. Especially during busy weeks like half term.

You’re allowed to adjust your expectations to match reality.
