💜 BIG WIN! 💜

One of the things I hear most often is:

“Do these exercises actually work?”

The answer is yes… when they’re the right exercises, done consistently, and combined with the right techniques and habits.

Pelvic floor health isn’t just about squeezing harder. It’s about learning how your body works, improving breathing, building strength, creating better movement patterns, and sometimes even teaching an overactive bladder to calm down.

Today brought a lovely reminder of why I’m so passionate about helping people with this.

When the exercises and techniques are applied correctly, positive changes really can happen. 🙌

✔️ More confidence
✔️ Fewer leaks
✔️ Better bladder control
✔️ Less rushing to the toilet
✔️ Improved quality of life

Small improvements can make a huge difference to everyday life.

That’s why I always say… don’t just put up with it because you think it’s “part of getting older.”

Often there is something you can do. 💕

Today’s Rest & Restore session combined hormone support crystal reflexology, healing stone chakra connections and a soothing head massage — all designed to help the body and mind slow down, switch off and find a little balance again. ✨

Receiving messages like this afterwards always makes me smile:

💬 “Thank you for today Jo. I feel so relaxed, it’s an amazing experience. Xx”

Life can be busy, noisy and demanding, and many of us spend so much time looking after everyone else that we forget to recharge ourselves.

Taking time to rest isn’t a luxury — it’s part of looking after your wellbeing. 🤎

Midlife women NEED muscle strength 💪
Muscle helps support hormones, blood sugars, metabolism and even thyroid health… annoying as that is 😂

Muscles don’t directly “improve the thyroid,” but strength training and muscle mass can support metabolic health, insulin sensitivity, energy use, and hormone balance — which all interact with thyroid function and how we feel in midlife.

Practicing what I preach this weekend… a few days away to completely switch off and unwind ✨

Walks, river time, and being immersed in the sights and sounds of nature 🌿

Good food, music, sunshine ☀️ and making myself actually listen to what I need instead of falling into the usual trap of trying to cram everything in and overdo it… even when I’m away to relax.

And now I have the perfect excuse to come back and do the bits I missed 😊

Slowing down doesn’t always come naturally… sometimes we have to consciously choose it 💛

This little bee landed on my hand and for a few minutes everything else stopped. The mental to-do list paused. The tabs in my brain went quiet. The “must reply to that / remember this / sort that later” faded into the background.

Women in midlife are often carrying SO much.Family stuff. Work stuff. Caring for everyone. Hormones. Life admin. Emotional load.
No wonder the system occasionally freezes like the rainbow wheel of doom on an old computer!

Try this when you feel the overwhelm creeping in… 💛

Step outside for just a moment and take a few slow deep breaths.

Then notice…

🍃 The air on your skin
🌸 The scents around you
🍂 A leaf or flower petal — really study the pattern and detail
🤎 Touch something nearby — rough bark, soft petals, cool stone… how does it feel?
🐦 listen for the birdsong

Just a few minutes is all it takes to become fully present in the moment.

And when that happens, the mind quietens a little. The nervous system softens. The mental tabs stop flashing quite so loudly.

Sometimes we don’t need to do more.We just need a moment to pause and notice 🐝💛
