Learning Disability Week – Final Day 💙

To round off Learning Disability Week, colleagues from across Kinect Services came together to learn and showcase Makaton.

Makaton uses signs, symbols, and speech to support communication and is used by many people with learning disabilities, autism, and communication difficulties. By developing these skills, we can better support our passengers and help everyone feel understood, valued, and included.

From our drivers and passenger assistants to carers and head office teams, we're all Here to Help, Together.

Next Thursday, our teams will be taking part in Colours with Purpose 🌈

We'll be wearing something colourful to celebrate inclusion, individuality and the things that make each of us unique.

Throughout the day, we'll be inviting colleagues to share what Pride and the colours they choose to wear mean to them personally, if they feel comfortable doing so.

We can't wait to see everyone getting involved and we'll be sharing some photos from the day afterwards.

At Kinect Services, we are proud of the knowledge, skills, and confidence our staff bring to supporting service users every day. As research, guidance, and regulations continue to evolve, we are committed to ensuring our training remains up to date, relevant, and reflective of best practice across our services.

Today, we are highlighting our Learning Disability, Autism and Dementia Training module, available to all employees through our online training hub. This training helps our teams better understand the needs of those we support, enabling them to provide safe, compassionate, and person-centred care so that every service user feels respected, valued, and listened to.

⚽🌍 World Cup Fever Has Arrived at Kinect! 🌍⚽

With the World Cup kicking off tomorrow, the excitement across the office is building!

We held our World Cup sweepstake draw, with everyone eagerly finding out which team they'll be supporting over the coming weeks 🏆🤞

Our Head Office team has also been getting into the spirit by decorating their desks with flags and team colours.

We can't wait to follow the action, celebrate the victories and see whose sweepstake team goes all the way to the final! 🥇🏟️

Our fundraiser for Mind has now come to an end and together we've raised £190 💚

Over the past few weeks we've had team walks, Wear It Green Day, a Eurovision sweepstake and plenty of friendly competition along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, took part and supported the fundraiser. Every contribution made a difference and it was fantastic to see so many colleagues getting involved.

The fundraising may be over, but knowing us, it probably won't be long before we're back supporting another great cause!

Help Carmen Neagu raise money to support South East and Central Essex Mind

Last week, as World Environment Day was marked around the globe, we've been reflecting on some of the beautiful places we are lucky enough to see across the South East.

Every day our teams travel through communities, countryside and coastal areas supporting children, adults and people with additional needs. It is a reminder that protecting our environment isn't somebody else's responsibility, it's something we all have a part to play in.

We already work to reduce unnecessary mileage through route planning, make greater use of digital systems to reduce paper waste, and regularly review how our fleet is used to improve efficiency.

Recently, we spoke with environmental specialist Lucy from Kent County Council's Biodiversity Team, who highlighted that some of the most effective environmental improvements start with understanding your impact and making consistent, measurable changes over time.

As Kinect continues to grow, we want to build on the work already underway by setting clear environmental goals, reducing waste, improving efficiency and exploring future opportunities to further reduce our environmental impact.
