Family carers give so much. Often quietly, without asking for anything in return.

But everyone needs a break. Not because they're not coping, but because rest makes everything better. For them and for the person they love.

Helping you put everyone first this summer, that is what we are here for. If you're a family carer in Reading, visiting or live-in respite care from Guardian Angel Carers could give you the breathing room you deserve. 💜

Summer should be about enjoying the sunshine and making memories together, no matter what your family's needs are.

Whether you're looking for visiting care, flexible support, or a well-deserved break as a family carer, we're here for you.

Celebrating summer means extra time in your days, whether you're taking the family to the coast, having a garden barbecue, or simply enjoying the outdoors with nothing planned.

However you're spending it, make the most of it.

Grief looks different for everyone, and there's no right way to move through it. National Grief Awareness Day is about making space for that, without rushing anyone through it or expecting it to follow any particular timeline.

If you're supporting someone who's grieving, the most useful thing you can offer is often just showing up and listening, without trying to fix it, and staying in touch long after the first few weeks have passed.

If you're the one grieving, go easy on yourself today.

We are always here if you need us.

Senior Citizens Day gives us a reason to do something we don't always make time for, which is sitting with an older person and properly listening. Their stories, their opinions, the things they'd do differently and the things they wouldn't change at all.

Our CareAngels get to do this every day, and it's one of the real privileges of the job. Today we're celebrating the humour, wisdom and resilience of the older people we support, and encouraging everyone to make a bit of time for the older people in their own lives too.

We are always here if you need us.

World Humanitarian Day honours the aid and health workers who go into the hardest circumstances imaginable, often at real personal risk, to help people they have never met.

It is also a day to remember those who did not come home from that work. Today, we are taking a moment to recognise the courage and commitment of humanitarian workers around the world.

With respect and gratitude, today and always.

Across our communities, we see the incredible impact of the younger generation every single day. From the dedicated young carers supporting their families to the vibrant energy young people bring into the lives of our clients, their contribution is invaluable.

Today puts the spotlight on their potential, and on the role they play in shaping communities, workplaces, and conversations that affect us all.

Here's to the young people making their mark.

The tradition goes back to the 1840s, when a duchess found the gap between lunch and a late dinner a little too long to bear, and decided the answer was tea and cake.

For us, it's a reminder of something we believe in every day, that care means paying attention to the small things. The way someone takes their tea, the biscuit they'll always say yes to, or the company they'd rather have it with.

Those details matter, and they're worth marking a whole week for.

This week, we're raising a cup to all of them.

Over the last month, we have shared stories of tea trays properly set, favourite programmes never missed, and families finally finding the space to breathe again.

Good Care Month draws to a close today, but our commitment to what care should look like stays the same. We refuse to treat care as a transaction or a set of boxes to tick on a clipboard.

Here is to care that lets you be you again, today, tomorrow, and every month of the year.

Today is International Day of Friendship, recognised by the United Nations to celebrate the people who make ordinary days better simply by being in them.

Friendship shows up in different ways as life goes on. Sometimes it's a long phone call. Sometimes it's someone who just sits with you, no agenda, no rush.

We see this often in the relationships between our CareAngels and the people they support, with bonds that grow well beyond the visit itself.

We are always here if you need us.
