Planning a trip abroad this summer? Don’t forget to check travel health advice and vaccinations before you go 🌍

Different countries can have different health risks, and some destinations may recommend or require vaccinations before travel πŸ’‰
Depending on where you’re travelling, you may need protection against illnesses such as hepatitis A, typhoid or yellow fever. It’s best to check as early as possible before your trip so you have enough time to arrange any vaccinations you may need πŸ‘
Your pharmacist may also be able to provide travel health advice, vaccinations and support to help you stay well while you’re away ✈️
If you’re holidaying in the UK, it’s still important to stay safe in the summer sun and look after your health β˜€οΈ
Helpful tips include:
β€’ wearing sunscreen and staying hydrated
β€’ packing enough prescription medication
β€’ carrying a basic first aid kit
β€’ checking local weather and travel updates
β€’ remembering insect bite protection if spending time outdoors 🦟

A little preparation can help make your holiday safer and more enjoyable for everyone πŸ’™

Summer is here – are you ready? β˜€οΈ

Warmer weather can bring a range of common health issues, from sunburn and hay fever to insect bites and travel sickness 🌍
Simple steps can help you stay safe and well this summer πŸ‘

β˜€οΈ Protect your skin by:
β€’ using sunscreen with at least SPF 30
β€’ reapplying regularly
β€’ spending time in the shade during the hottest part of the day
β€’ wearing suitable clothing and sunglasses 😎

Even on cloudy days, UV rays can still damage your skin, so sun protection is important throughout the summer months πŸ’™

If you need advice on managing summer symptoms such as hay fever, insect bites, stings or travel sickness, your pharmacist can help πŸ’Š

Stay safe, stay well and enjoy your summer 🌴

WorkWell is an NHS and UK Government programme that helps people whose physical or mental health is making it difficult to stay in work, return to work, or find work. It brings together health, employment, and wellbeing support to help people remain in or get back into suitable employment.

Patients who are eligible are typically offered support such as:

One-to-one sessions with a Work and Health Coach.
Help developing a personalised plan to stay in or return to work.
Advice on workplace adjustments and conversations with employers.

Signposting or referral to services such as physiotherapy, mental health support, occupational health, financial advice, or employment services, depending on local availability.

In many areas, GPs and other primary care staff can refer patients to WorkWell, although patients may also be able to self-refer depending on the local service. Eligibility generally includes being aged 16 or over, having the right to work in the UK, and having a health condition or disability that is affecting work. The exact criteria vary by local NHS area.

The programme is designed to:
Prevent people from leaving work because of ill health.
Support those who are off sick to return safely.
Help unemployed people with health conditions prepare for and access work where appropriate.
