Our team will be available throughout the day to provide support and answer your questions about:

✅ The NHS App
✅Social Prescribing Services
✅ Patient Participation Groups (PPGs)
✅ Accessing local health and wellbeing support

Whether you need help setting up the NHS App, want to learn more about how you can get involved with your GP practice through a PPG, or would like to find out how our Social Prescribers can support you, we're here to help.

🌞 Looking Out for Each Other During Hot Weather 🌞

As temperatures rise, please take a moment to check in on neighbours, friends, relatives, or anyone who may need a little extra support.

💛 Ask if they:
• Are feeling unwell
• Need any practical help
• Need food, shopping, or medication collected

Stay Safe in the Heat ☀️

• Avoid being in direct sunlight between 11:00am and 3:00pm
• If you need to go outside, stay in the shade where possible
• Wear sunscreen and a hat
• Avoid strenuous physical activity during the hottest part of the day
• Choose light-coloured, loose-fitting clothing, preferably cotton

Keep Cool 🧊

• Drink plenty of water and cold drinks
• Avoid excessive alcohol, caffeine, and hot drinks
• Eat cold foods such as salads and fruit with a high water content
• Take a cool shower or bath
• Use a damp cloth on the back of your neck or lightly spray your skin and clothing with water

If you start to feel unwell, take action immediately and seek advice if needed.

💛 Loneliness Awareness Week 💛

This week marks Loneliness Awareness Week, an important opportunity to raise awareness about the impact of loneliness and the value of human connection.

Loneliness can affect anyone regardless of age, background, or circumstances. It isn’t always visible, but it can have a deep impact on mental and emotional wellbeing. 💭

Small actions can make a big difference:
✨ Asking someone “Are you okay?”
✨ Reaching out to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while
✨ Listening without judgement
✨ Creating spaces where people feel included and valued

Missing GP appointments is becoming a serious issue in many practices.

If you can’t make your appointment, please remember to cancel it as early as possible. Even a short notice cancellation can allow someone else who really needs care to be seen.

Every missed appointment means wasted time for clinicians and longer waiting times for everyone else. It also puts extra pressure on already busy NHS services.

Let’s all do our part if you can’t attend, cancel or reschedule. It really does make a difference.

📢 Important: UK Landline (Copper Network) Switch-Off by January 2027

By January 2027, the UK’s old copper telephone network will be switched off and replaced with digital landlines that work via your broadband connection.

⚠️ Who will be affected?

Anyone with a home phone (landline)
People using telecare alarms, medical devices, or burglar alarms connected to a phone line
Older or vulnerable residents who may not use mobile phones

🔌 What you need to know:

Your landline will likely need to be plugged into your internet router instead of the wall socket
If you rely on any connected safety or medical devices, you should check compatibility now
Do not wait for the last-minute providers are already contacting customers

📞 What to do:

Contact your provider (BT, Virgin Media O2, Sky, TalkTalk, EE, Plusnet, etc.) as soon as possible
Ask how the change affects your home setup
Make sure telecare or alarm systems are upgraded if needed

If you can’t make your appointment, please do cancel it.

It might feel like a small thing, but a missed appointment means someone else misses out on care that day someone who could really need it.

We know life gets busy and things change, and that’s absolutely fine. Just letting us know means we can offer that slot to another patient.

A quick call or message can make a big difference. Let’s try not to waste appointments so everyone gets seen when they need it
