β¨ A Little Peek Behind the Scenes... β¨
People often see the finished journal, but not the quiet hours that go into creating each one by hand.
These have all been created over the last few days, one careful step at a time...
π Cutting each cover to size.
π€ Gluing the boards, spine and covers together.
βοΈ Carefully folding each edge and trimming every corner.
πΏ Lining the inside with decorative paper.
πͺ‘ Gluing in the hand-sewn signatures.
π And finally... the hardest part of all... waiting patiently while everything is pressed under heavy books until the glue has fully set.
There's something wonderfully slow and mindful about bookbinding. Every stage asks you to pause, pay attention, and trust the process. You can't rush it. Each journal takes shape one careful step at a time.
I absolutely love seeing a pile of separate pieces gradually become something that will one day hold someone's dreams, ideas, sketches, prayers, memories or plans.
These are still a work in progress, but I couldn't resist sharing a little glimpse behind the scenes.
Thank you for following along on this creative journey. It truly means so much. π
Which stage do you find most satisfying to watchβthe cutting, the gluing, the folding... or the final reveal?
