You can come to yoga to improve your flexibility.

You can come to build strength.

You can come for fitness, balance or mobility.

You’ll be very welcome.

But you don’t need to arrive as a better version of yourself first.

You can come exactly as you are.

Tired.Busy.Stressed.Energetic.Distracted.Calm.

Whatever is present today is enough.

The practice is simply an opportunity to pause long enough to notice what’s real.

And from that place, respond to what is needed.

I had such a brilliant time at Heels (the brilliant dance class with the very talented

Then I was asked ‘wanna do solo?’

Without even realising it, I’d already decided not to do it.

The bit I found interesting wasn’t that I didn’t do it.

It was when I realised that my mind had made that decision without me even knowing it had.

It had told me..

‘I’ll look ridiculous’
‘I’m to old’
‘Don’t know the routine’

And in that moment I wasn’t even aware.

Now I am. So next time I’m doing it anyway.

I’m ok with my fear of being ridiculous. I’m ok with actually looking ridiculous. But now I’m aware I’ll make the choice from now on.

So next time…..I’ll be doing the solo.

One of the things I value about yoga is that there’s no “right” way you’re supposed to feel or be. During or after.

Some days you notice how tired you are.Some days how much tension you’ve been holding.Some days you feel stronger, calmer, emotional — or perhaps simply glad you showed up.

For me, yoga isn’t about chasing a feeling or a pose.It’s about creating space to notice what’s real that day — without judgement.

It’s the space where you can truly be just as you are.

Arrived in Kenya this week.

Spending time with the the girls, the mentors, the space they’re creating together.

There’s something about being in a different place that changes how you see things.

Not in big, dramatic ways.
Just small moments.

Conversations.
Laughter.
The way people show up for each other.

I’m noticing more than I can put into words just yet.

For now, just taking it in.

Something I’ve been noticing in classes.

How unfamiliar it can be for people to hear that they don’t always need to push through.

That easing off can be a valid choice and stepping back isn’t failure.

It seems so simple.

But it isn’t always how we’ve been taught.

Over time it’s easy to get used to following direction.
To assume someone else knows what’s best.
To override our own sense of what we need.

I’ve recognised that pattern in myself too.

And also the quiet shift back from it. To trusting my own intuition.

Pausing.
Checking in with MYSELF.
Deciding and living from there.
