A few weeks ago I shared something I hadn’t fully realised at the time.
At the end of dance class everyone takes a turn.
And when my turn came, I didn’t do it.
Not because anyone stopped me.
Not because anyone judged me.
Because a little voice in my head quietly convinced me I would look ridiculous.
So I made myself a promise.
Next time, I’d do it.
Last night I did.
The biggest surprise wasn’t that I faced the fear.
It was what happened afterwards.
I felt so much peace.
Not pride.
Not relief.
The fear had been much bigger than the thing itself. And just doing it (which was a buzz btw) took all that away.
But I think it’s also about community.
It’s a fabulous feeling to be in a place, where it is safe to learn, wobble and get things wrong and still be welcome.
Sometimes confidence doesn’t come from believing in yourself.
Sometimes it comes from being surrounded by people who believe in you until you’re ready to join them.
Can’t thank you enough and your class of beautiful beings.
