🚨 Safeguarding Alert: Scam Calls Pretending to be Surrey Police ⚠️
Surrey Police have warned that scammers are making calls which appear to come from genuine Surrey Police phone numbers, including 101 and 01483 571212.

Criminals can use β€œspoofing” technology to disguise their real number and make a call or text look as though it has come from a trusted organisation, such as the police, a bank or a government agency.

⚠️ Please remember:

❌ Police will never call unexpectedly and ask for your bank details or other sensitive personal information.
❌ Police will never ask you to withdraw money, transfer funds or buy high-value items as part of an investigation.
❌ Seeing a genuine Surrey Police number on your screen does not guarantee that the caller is genuine.

If someone calls claiming to be a police officer and you are unsure, end the call and verify their identity independently. Take their name and details, then contact Surrey Police yourself via 101, their online chat or the Surrey Police website.

You can also use the Surrey Police website to report a crime, provide information, report a road traffic collision or request an update on an existing investigation.
