Alloy Wheel Powder Coater and Lathe Operator
Autoshine Wheel Clinic are looking to recruit a new member of staff to Paint and Powder coat alloy wheels on our automated track system. Once competent, training if required, will be given on our Diamond cutting CNC Lathes will be given to ensure you become multi skilled quickly.
Powder coating and wet paining experience not essential but preferred.

This means that you do not have to have previous experience using lathes or CNC machines. Full training will be supplied to the right candidate.
Diamond cutting requires the successful applicant to follow a predetermined process from start to finish. This role would include checking wheels prior to work beginning to ascertain suitability for refurbishment/diamond cutting. Correct loading of wheels into the lathe, always following safety measures with care. A digital probe is used to map the profiles of each individual wheel, and the resulting data is stored. When machining the wheel, the software programme is run multiple times. Each time, a very small amount of material is removed until the desired finish is achieved on the face of the wheel. During lathe operation, progress must be checked continually. There are many other processes within the simplified explanation here, but essentially, the role requires a conscientious person who can concentrate to ensure damage is not caused to machinery, wheels or themself.
Once comprehensively trained, we will look to provide experience in other areas of the workshop. This would help to develop a good working understanding of other roles carried out by the team which would ultimately allow flexibility within the business and offer variety to you.
The role requires a reliable, hardworking well organised individual who can forward plan and communicate effectively with other workshop staff and management to identify priorities. Whilst maintaining a safe and tidy workspace as well as keeping equipment in good working order.
