We often think of loneliness as being alone, but some of the deepest loneliness can exist while surrounded by people.
Many people carry parts of themselves that they do not feel able to fully share. Over time, this can create a quiet sense of emotional isolation, even within relationships, families and everyday life.
I have written a new article exploring loneliness, the human need to feel understood and the powerful role therapy can play in helping people feel less alone within themselves.
