The Work Behind Arranging a Funeral
When people think about arranging a funeral, they may understandably think of the arrangements made during the funeral appointment.
But there is so much more work that happens behind the scenes before that day arrives.
From the moment we are entrusted with looking after someone, our work begins.
We arrange venues and liaise with ministers and celebrants. We prepare the deceased with care and dignity, ensuring they are ready for their family to visit in our chapel of rest.
We organise, discuss and arrange music, prepare orders of service and liaise with florists to make sure every detail is exactly as the family wishes.
There is also the practical work that often goes unseen — washing and preparing the hearse, ensuring the family cars are immaculate, checking every detail of the service and making sure everyone involved knows where they need to be and when.
A funeral isn’t simply arranged in an appointment. It is carefully planned, prepared and carried out with care, often over many days.
For us, these aren’t just jobs to tick off a list. They are important responsibilities entrusted to us by families at one of the most difficult times in their lives.
We take great pride in everything we do — both the things families see and the many things they don’t.
Because every detail matters when saying goodbye to someone you love.
