We have a new team member 💚🐾 I didn't know when I ordered him that his name was Stanley 🥺 That was Oliver's 'brother' who passed away in 2023. Seems very fitting, so welcome on board Stanley #2 💚🐾

"You Clever Sausage" Amy has achieved two distinctions and a merit, and is headed off to University in September to study Bio Veterinary Sciences - so proud of you! Congratulations on your fantastic results - well deserved 🎺

Don't panic, Amy will still be in the Centre during her studies 📚

And thank you Bourbon's owners for popping back with some choccies, and to new boy Dave the Poodle for indulging me and getting back onto the treadmill after his session so I could snap a quick pic of our superstar. Flossie 🐾❤️ Isn't she adorable? Flossie is a miniature poodle who has been diagnosed with a luxating patella 🐾

She has started hydrotherapy sessions to build up the muscles her hindlimbs, to strengthen those around her knee and also to encourage a more balanced gait pattern as she loads through the front of her body to avoid using her back legs 🐾

Flossie is a cute as a button and I look forward to seeing her progress - hopefully we can avoid the need for surgery, a big thank you to her vet for suggesting this treatment 🐾

I just wanted to do a little shout out to Pastel Pooch Boutique and their founder and owner Aime 🐾

Aime first approached me in 2024 but as a new business myself I wasn't able to invest in stock as I still had alot of things to pay off (underwater treadmills are not cheap). Aime then got in touch again in 2025 and I was impressed by her passion and more importantly her product 🐾

Pastel Pooch robes are the only ones I now have in my little shop, and when you buy one you are not only supporting another small business, you are helping a young person fulfill their dreams and ambitions. Aime gets married in a few weeks and she is also caring for her wonderful senior labrador Billy () who is 16 years old and is primed and ready for his role as ring bearer and chief usher at the wedding 🐾

I know how tough it is running a business whilst trying to be present with everything else and to worry about an elderly dog on top of that. Aimes new range looks amazing and I've placed a small order today with a couple of the new Daschund sizes so would love owners of the slightly larger sized Daxies to have a look at these when they arrive. I know it's a heatwave but winter will be here before we know it (and I think secretly we are all ready for some cooler temperatures for our doggies) 🐾

So today we did a thing.... I know you must wonder what fun I get up to on my every other Wednesday off now my little man isn't here 🐾💙🥺 Well I come into work and spend money!!!

Thanks to Poppy's Dad Mike Shipman at MS Home Repairs we have installed a cooling and heating unit. First thing I would like to do is apologise as this does now mean the weather will turn cold and rubbish, but it does also mean that the Centre will be a few degrees cooler during hot spells and warmer during the winter months. We do have a big space so there's no need to bring your thermals if you are in this week, but it does hopefully mean we will all be abit more comfortable 😎

Finishing the day with a glass of my new favourite drink, a Hugo Spritz in the garden. Cheers, and happy hump day 🍻

Rosie 🐾❤️ And she was absolutely refusing to keep still for a photo so this was the best I could do 🤣 Rosie is the most adorable cockerpoo and she has started hydrotherapy sessions to help to manage mild hip dysplasia and also to treat APL tenosynovitis which is a condition which affects the carpus (wrist) 🐾

Rosie was a little nervous to begin with, but at only her third session she settled so well and looked like she was really enjoying herself - her lovely owners have already seen an improvement in her body language and general demeanour 🐾

Pain management and understanding is one of the most challenging things in my job - dogs cannot tell us if or where it hurts, they also mask pain so well. And that is instinct - show pain or weakness in the wild and you become a target - so hide it and get on with it 🥺

Rosie will complete her rehabilitation sessions and then we will discuss long term maintenance sessions 🐾❤️

I can't believe it's been exactly 3 years since our fabulous Tudor Treadmills Ltd - Canine Hydrotherapy Treadmills treadmill was installed 🐾

Sharing again a video from the day before it arrived - I look tired but it's nothing to how I feel at the end of most weeks now 🤣 Back then I was fresh faced and about 2 stone lighter as I used to have time to train 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️

But I wouldn't change a thing! 3 years ago in June 2023 I was made redundant from a previous Centre as it was closing. The news came only a few days after I lost Stanley 🐾🌈

Despite feeling sad and lost, I reminded myself that I'm a double Ironman and I've sumitted Kilimanjaro and made it to Everest Base Camp 👊

And more importantly there were dogs that needed help, so we got to work to turn an empty unit into Lancashire Canine Hydrotherapy - and I think we did a pretty good job 🐾💙
