๐Ÿ’œโœจ LAYOLA'S WEEK OF LITTLE WINS โœจ๐Ÿ’œ

Another Friday means another chance to stop, look back and celebrate some of the things that have happened across Layola this week.

And once againโ€ฆ there's been plenty! ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐ŸŒŸ LEARNING FROM EXPERIENCE

Following a medication error, one member of our team returned to the Layola Training Academy and successfully completed additional medication training.

At Layola, we promote an open and honest culture. We want our staff to feel able to tell us when something hasn't gone quite right, because that's how we can support, educate and improve โ€” creating a safer service for everyone. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐ŸŒŸ COMPETENCIES & QUALITY

This week our teams also completed:

๐Ÿ’Š 2 Medication Competency Assessments
๐Ÿ’œ 2 PEG Competency Assessments
๐Ÿ‘€ 3 Staff Spot Checks โ€” all with positive outcomes!

Small checks, continuous learning and regular competency assessments all contribute towards maintaining the standards we expect across our services.

๐ŸŒŸ ALMOST THERE! ๐ŸŽ“

Our Senior Care Assessor completed her final workplace assessment for her Level 4 qualification this week!

She's now incredibly close to completing the full qualification โ€” a brilliant achievement and another example of continued progression within our team. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’œ

๐ŸŒŸ COFFEE & CATCH-UP WITH ASHLEIGH โ˜•๐Ÿ’ฌ

This week we held our very first Coffee & Catch-Up with Ashleigh, with two members of our field care team.

The whole purpose of these sessions is simple: sit down, have a coffee, talk openly and make sure the voices of the people delivering our care are being heard.

And our first session brought some really lovely feedback. ๐Ÿฅน

Both staff members spoke extremely positively about the support they receive from our office team, with one also specifically praising the support received from Ashleigh, our Registered Manager.

But there was one name that came up from both staff membersโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘ KIM TAYLOR! ๐Ÿ‘

Kim was described as โ€œbrilliantโ€, with both staff recognising how she continually goes above and beyond to support them and help with their requests.

Kim โ€” that's feedback directly from the people you support every day, and you should be incredibly proud of it. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐ŸŒŸ RECOGNISING EXCELLENT WORK

This week, five members of Team Layola received a formal Recognition of Your Excellent Work email following some fantastic feedback and performance:

๐Ÿ‘ Darian Warburton
๐Ÿ‘ Thomas Howcroft
๐Ÿ‘ Gaynor Ross
๐Ÿ‘ Robyn Burns
๐Ÿ‘ Jahleel Durami

A special mention to every one of you. Your individual contributions have been noticed, recognised and appreciated. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐ŸŒŸ TEAM LAYOLA IS GROWING! ๐ŸŒฑ

We've welcomed 6 new members of staff into Layola this week!

All six are now enrolled onto our internal training pathway and will begin their journey through the Layola Training Academy next week.

Welcome to the family โ€” we can't wait to see you develop! ๐Ÿ’œ

๐ŸŒŸ LEADERS NEVER STOP LEARNING

Development doesn't stop at our field teams.

This week, our Registered Manager also completed another assessor session as part of the Transformational Leader Pathway โ€“ Level 6 Service Designer qualification.

Because if we expect our teams to continue learning, developing and improving, we believe our leadership should be doing exactly the same. ๐ŸŽ“

๐ŸŽ‚ AND FINALLYโ€ฆ A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

A special birthday shout-out to our lovely Jean B, who celebrated her birthday this week! ๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŽ‚

We hope you had a fantastic day, Jean, from everyone at Team Layola. ๐Ÿ’œ

โœจ Another week of little winsโ€ฆ

Training completed.
Competencies passed.
Quality checked.
Staff listened to.
Great work recognised.
Qualifications progressing.
New people joining our family.
And leaders continuing to learn too.

Individually they might seem like little winsโ€ฆ

Together, they're how we keep building a better Layola. ๐Ÿ’œ

Well done, Team Layola. ๐Ÿ‘โœจ

14/08/2026

๐Ÿ’—โœจ LAYOLAโ€™S WEEK OF LITTLE WINS โœจ๐Ÿ’—

What a week.

We always share our wins at Layola, but we also believe in being real โ€” and this week wasnโ€™t an easy one. It was actually a really hard week at times.

But sometimes itโ€™s the difficult weeks that show you exactly what your team is made of. ๐Ÿ’—

And this week, Layola was ONE team.

๐ŸŒŸ 8 members of staff completed specialist training In Southport at the North West regional spinal injuries centre , continuing to build the skills and knowledge within our complex care teams.

๐ŸŒŸ 2 new starters successfully completed their full three-day mandatory training programme in our Layola Training Academy.

๐ŸŒŸ We commenced a brand-new complex spinal care package, carefully building a new team around the individual and their needs.

๐ŸŒŸ 6 staff spot checks were completed โ€” all with positive outcomes, with just one refresher training need identified. Exactly what quality monitoring should do: recognise whatโ€™s going well while identifying opportunities to keep developing.

๐ŸŒŸ Our Deputy Manager completed her mock assessment with her assessor towards her Level 4 Diploma โ€” another step forward in her professional development. ๐ŸŽ“

๐ŸŒŸ Thomas Howcroft received an amazing compliment following his support of a child. He was described as polite, professional and able to handle the situation extremely well. Well done, Thomas! ๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŒŸ Robyn Burns also received wonderful feedback following the start of a new package. Her professionalism and knowledge were praised, along with how comfortable and at ease she made the whole family feel. ๐Ÿ’—

๐ŸŒŸ One of our new starters completed their Medication Competency Assessment today โ€” and PASSED! ๐Ÿ’Š๐Ÿ‘

But our biggest win this week canโ€™t really be measured.

It was our team.

Our office team.
Our management team.
Our training team.
And our incredible care staff out in the field.

When things became difficult, everyone pulled together. People stepped up, supported one another, solved problems and kept the people we support at the centre of everything.

Not every week in care is easy. We donโ€™t pretend that it is.

But this week reminded us that when things get tough, we donโ€™t become separate departments โ€” we become one Layola.

One company. One team. One family. ๐Ÿ’—

And that might just be our biggest Little Win yet.

Well done Team Layola. We are incredibly proud of you all. ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ’—
