As temperatures rise, it’s important to take simple steps to protect your health and wellbeing during the summer months.

Hot weather can increase the risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, but a few small changes can make a big difference:

-Stay hydrated
Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Avoid too much alcohol or caffeine, as these can dehydrate you.

-Keep cool
Stay in the shade where possible, especially between 11am and 3pm. Keep your home cool by closing curtains in sunny rooms and opening windows when it’s cooler outside.

-Protect your skin
Use sunscreen with a high SPF, wear a hat and sunglasses, and cover up where possible to reduce your risk of sunburn and long-term skin damage.

-Look out for warning signs
Symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, nausea or excessive sweating can be signs of heat exhaustion. It’s important to act quickly by cooling down and rehydrating.

-Take extra care with vulnerable people
Older adults, young children and those with underlying health conditions may be more at risk in hot weather, check in on them regularly.
Simple steps can help you stay safe and well, so you can make the most of the summer.

We're celebrating one of our own today! 🎉

A huge congratulations to Liane, who recently represented Great Britain and captained the Senior A GB Dragon Boat team at the European National Dragon Boat Championships in Munich, 9-12th July.

After eight months of dedication and training, Liane and the team achieved an amazing result, bringing home both Silver and Bronze medals while competing against Europe's top teams.

What an incredible achievement and a testament to hard work, determination and teamwork. We are extremely proud of Liane and can't wait to follow the journey towards the World Championships in Hong Kong in 2028.

Well done, Liane! 🥈🥉🇬🇧

Did you know?
ACL injuries make up more than half of all knee injuries in football.
While many people can return to football after ACL reconstruction, recovery takes time and careful planning. It's not just about healing, it's about rebuilding strength, stability and confidence in your knee.

A safe return to sport typically involves:
• A gradual recovery timeline over several months
• Tailored physiotherapy and rehabilitation
• Avoiding an early return that can increase the risk of re‑injury
