What have I done the last few weeks?
I had some annual leave and popped to Camp Bestival.
Made the costumes for Camp Bestival (which the youngest decided she didn’t want to use 🙄)
Popped to LIPS Healthcare Battersea Power Station for an incredible launch with the lush All things SKIN
Got a new head shot 🤦🏼‍♀️ (thanks All things SKIN )
Brought the kids along to play out in Battersea with me after work.
Played out with the education team
Tried and will keep trying to make some sort of content but jees, it doesn’t come natural to me!
Celebrated Nurse Emily birthday
Still trying to nail the Nurse Emily pose
Brought Baxter a little picture back from Edinburgh
Took the family to Edinburgh with me for work and play

As a healthcare professional this is frustrating.
As a mother, it pi**es me off.

I’m not asking staff to apply anything. Just to remind my children to reapply their own suncream BEFORE lunchtime.

2 hourly reapplication isn’t my personal preference.
It’s the evidence based guidance of NICE and British Association of Dermatologists.

The DfE requires schools to teach pupils about sun exposure risks as part of the statutory Health Education curriculum and schools are expected to take practical steps to safeguard pupils when UV levels are high. This includes encouraging the use of SPF 30+ sunscreen.

A verbal reminder. That’s it. And yet here we are. Emails and phone calls telling me “it takes a long time to create a policy”.

The habits we build in childhood protect us for life.
