Your body is healing 🌸
Rest is not laziness, it’s recovery. Afterpains, hormonal shifts, hair loss, night sweats all of it is normal. Healing takes far longer than that six-week check suggests.

Your mental health matters đź’ś
Up to 80% of new parents experience the baby blues. But if feelings persist beyond two weeks or feel unmanageable, it could be postnatal depression or anxiety, and both are far more common than people realise. 1 in 5 new parents experience PND. You are not alone, and you do not have to push through.

Your baby is adjusting too 👶
Newborns have gone from a warm, familiar environment to a world full of light and sensation. Frequent waking, wanting to be held constantly, needing to feed often. This is all biology, not a bad habit.

What actually helps ✨
🌿 Lower the bar — fed, safe and slightly rested is a brilliant day
🌿 Accept help when it’s offered (and ask when it’s not)
🌿 Get outside, even for 10 minutes
🌿 Find your village, you weren’t meant to do this alone

The fourth trimester ends. You will sleep again. You will feel like yourself again. đź’ś

If you’re struggling with feeding or need someone in your corner during those early weeks, I’d love to help. Email: [email protected] to book a home visit or free 15 minute discovery call and if you know a new mum who needs to read this, tag her below. đź’ś

One of my favourite places to chill, gentle stroll over the cliffs and watching the activity in the docks.
It’s so clear today we can see France…

Tongue tie (or ankyloglossia) is when the small band of tissue under baby’s tongue is tighter or shorter than usual, restricting how far the tongue can move.

How it can affect feeding:
🤍 Difficulty getting a deep, comfortable latch
🤍 Clicking sounds while feeding
🤍 Sore or damaged ni***es for mum
🤍 Long or frequent feeds, but baby still seems unsettled
🤍 Slow weight gain

Here’s the bit that often surprises parents: a tongue tie division isn’t always the fix.

Sometimes what looks like a tongue tie issue is actually about positioning, attachment, or feeding technique — and adjusting these can make a huge difference without any procedure at all. Every baby and every feeding journey is different, which is why a proper assessment matters so much before jumping to any one solution.

That’s where a feeding consultation comes in. As an IBCLC, I look at the whole picture — tongue function, positioning, latch, and how feeding is actually going for you both — so we find what will genuinely help, whether that’s tweaks to technique or a referral for division.

💬 Wondering if tongue tie might be behind your feeding struggles? Send me a message and let’s chat it through.
📅 Or book a home visit and we’ll get a full feeding assessment sorted together.

Every week, one evening, one Zoom call — 5 incredible women in the baby business world, and the wonderful Hannah from The Little Rose Buds Academy.

We’ve talked business building, content, pricing, and the messy in-between bits nobody else warns you about.

What I’ve found isn’t just strategy — it’s support. Real, honest, non-judgemental support. The kind that leaves you feeling inspired instead of overwhelmed, and connected instead of isolated (running a solo practice can be a lonely place!).

I’ve come away with more ideas than I know what to do with, and now the fun part: turning them into an action plan.

If you’re a fellow baby-business owner looking for a space that’s nurturing, supportive, and completely judgement-free — I cannot recommend The Little Rose Buds Academy enough. 🌹

💛 Thinking about joining a mentoring group but not sure where to start? Send me a message — I’d love to tell you more about my experience with Hannah and the girls.
